Re: Guitarix release 0.23.3
Hello Mr. Brummer. Re: LinuxSampler problem
Well, as I said, the Ubuntu 11.10 happens to work nearly perfect for my system for this or that reason. I tried all those, I tried also the 12.04, and got back to 11.10 Now here's a copy from the terminal checking for artsc-config... no checking for ARTS artsc - version >= 0.9.5... no *** The artsc-...

Re: LinuxSampler problem
Aha, so I should've done that from the source folder....Well, then....I did it my way - search in the file system and then cd, sudo rm -r :D Oh, and it was old version all right. It didn't have LV2 support, so I installed the version from the package manager. It's still white, but at least has LV2. ...

Re: LinuxSampler problem
Sooo, I finally got it - it's all done in the terminal, but here is how I did it: I typed in the terminal: svn co https://svn.linuxsampler.org/svn/linuxsampler/trunk linuxsampler -svn then I typed these commands: cd linuxsampler-svn make -f Makefile.cvs ./configure make sudo make install The red ite...

Re: LinuxSampler problem
I think to get SFZ and SF2 support in linuxsampler you have to compile it yourself or use a distribution which has already done that like AVLinux, kxstudio, or dreamstudio. Personally, I think especially for a newbie you'll have much more success with music on linux if you use a dedicated audio dis...

Re: LinuxSampler problem
In all honesty, without wishing to sound condescending, if you had trouble following the pointers above then compiling linuxsampler might be a complicated and perhaps frustrating endeavor for you. I'm definitely willing to help, just be prepared there might be some work ahead :). Well, so far I've ...

Re: LinuxSampler problem
Well, I uninstalled gigedit and the other related stuff with the synaptic manager, and then deleted all "linuxsampler" files which I could find in the"files system" using the terminal commands cd and rm -r, so I hope I didn't messed it up :D Does http://www.linuxsampler.org/faq.h...

LinuxSampler problem
OK, so I really need some help here, cause I've been trying old day long with no result. I'd like to have the SFZ support on LS, but I guess I have the old version. Previously I thought it was some bad installation, so I uninstalled it and then reinstall. But now I can't seem to be able to uninstall...

Re: How to uninstall Ardour 3. beta3?!
Well, it turns out that actually there is an uninstall.sh in /opt, so I just had to right click it and then open in terminal. But thanks anyway.

How to uninstall Ardour 3. beta3?!
Can somebody help me with this? I'd like to install the new beta version, but I don't know how to remove this one. My machine is Ubuntu 11.10. I've tried with sudo apt-get remove ardour, but it did nothing. I tried to ask this on the Ardour forum, but I couldn't send the message, because Firefox blo...

Beats By Design
Hello guys! I came across this the other day: http://wiki.linuxaudio.org/apps/all/beats_by_design It says: an “artificially intelligent drum machine”, requires jMusic and of course Java It's native site is down. I found the app here: http://www.filebuzz.com/fileinfo/154008/Beats_By_Design.html But I...

Guitarix 0.22.2 running only in terminal?
I've just managed to compile guitarix 0.22.2, but it doesn't show in the dash on Ubuntu 11.10, it starts only if I type it in the terminal. Is there a way I can add guitarix in my app list? Thanks!

Re: Configuring Line In input?
Yeah, well, I figured it out. There was no need to touch anything in the ALSA mixer, it was all in the sound settings where in the input tab the connectors menu should be set to analog line in. So, with the line in the ALSA mixer I guess there was some kind of conflict, so there the line in should b...

Configuring Line In input?
OK, with Ubuntu is like "so far, so great", :D but occasionaly I run into some problems that I can't resolve on my own and I need some help. I wasn't getting any sound from the rear panel's line in on my computer. After a little search on Google I found that it can be enabled on the ALSA m...
