Re: Second Home by the Sea (Genesis cover) and Dream (Van Halen cover)
Hi finotti! Uhm Bud,,, For you to drop a couple of tunes like this here and then say "I am really not very good at mixing" is like Einstein saying "Sorry I'm not so great at physics"... I only listened to SHBTS so far and it's mixed tremendously! Great work, great sounds and yes...

Second Home by the Sea (Genesis cover) and Dreams (Van Halen cover)
It had been a long, long time since I recorded anything, and since I ran out of originals, I decided to do a few covers (until I get the courage to try to write something new). I recorded "Second Home by the Sea" , by Genesis, and "Dreams" , by Van Halen. I've heavily "cheat...

Re: Free acoustic drum bank for DrumGizmo, 1.7 GB, round robin
Will you be making a version back to work in Muse? When I load the main kit in Muse I hear nothing but of course if I load it in Reaper and follow your instructions which is what I did and also in Ardour it sounds amazing.. I haven't tried it yet, but did you configure the 16 channels in Muse (like...

Re: Alternatives for my win-plugins? (virtual Drums, Guitar, Bass, Amps+FX)
For guitar and amp sims: don't forget that JS plugins are cross-platform compatible, so they'll work in Linux. Here are a couple that sound really good to me: BAMP (bass amp) AmpEra (guitar amp) How do you load them in Ardour or Carla? (Off topic: James Peters, I've just seen your web page. Those a...

Re: Alternatives for my win-plugins? (virtual Drums, Guitar, Bass, Amps+FX)
Some quick suggestions: Drums: Drumgizmo Bass/Guitar: no idea, sorry... AmpFX: it's hard to compete with Helix, I think, but Guitarix, ToneLibGFX (paid) are the best options I know for guitar. For bass, and SVT, there is a gxSVT (by Guitarix) and Audio Assault's Duality Bass (paid). I hope this help...

Re: Drumgizmo interpreting noteoff as low velocity hit
[First: you probably should start a new thread to keep this on topic.]
You have to use DG's own kits. I don't think you can use Hydrogen kits at all (unless you convert them).

You can just type 'lsusb' in a terminal and see if it shows up.

Re: New Dragonfly Reverb beta release v2.9.0
DANGER! I was experimenting with decay and wander turned all the way up, and got a blast of noise. I haven't been able to reproduce it, but there is some weird random noise that consistently happens with wander turned up, regardless of the decay setting. Anybody testing this out, beware. Also, I ha...

Re: recording EQ, compressors, etc plugins
I think that the point is to have a "clean" signal before it hits the amp/amp simulation. The point of the preamp/mixer before the interface is exactly that. So, if you put EQ (specially HP/LP) as the first thing in your DI track (or recording bus, as suggested by sadko4u) you should accom...

Re: Audio assault plugins @ linux
FWIW: the Linux version of Duality did not work in Ardour initially, but I've reported it and they've fixed the dependency on GTK, and so now it works fine. Kudos to to the developers for their Linux support!

Re: KX Studio at the End of Standard Support - what now?
recently upgraded my 16.04-based Ubuntu installation with KXStudio repos to 18.04-based. no major problems so far, even wine (which was the most troublesome when i tried to upgrade a year ago) works. can't say anything about DE though, because i don't use KDE/Neon, using LXDE instead. is it better ...

I'm pretty sure you can. Inspect the folder structure and xml files, and you will probably see how to do it.

Re: MusE 3.1pre3
Hey guys, I'm working on a new midi drum track and part way through it I'd like to change the tempo for a small section then back to the original tempo. How is that done in MusE? I just put the play head where I want the change to happen (in the main window) and change the tempo in the tool bar. Ye...
