Re: Nvidia why they don't release 3D driver source

All music should be free to hear, and musicians should make their money from live performances, as they have throughout history. You are no king, free people can still sell, trade, or give music away, as THEY please. The music itself, however created, cannot be separated from the infrastructure nee...

Re: Nvidia why they don't release 3D driver source

'They' should Why don't 'they' There is this common thread, that strangers are entitled to things other people own, and that successful individuals and business entities, should, on the whim of strangers, change the policies, practices, and pricing that enabled their success. My general point, is, ...

Re: Nvidia why they don't release 3D driver source

AutoStatic is right on this one. Downloading music should be free, and artists should get paid for concerts. Go to Reverbnation, and see how many artists give all of their music for free. They want to get famous, downloading is like radio play for them. Hollywood and record companies are nothing bu...

Re: Nvidia why they don't release 3D driver source

If you don't innovate your market share will decline (Sony anyone?). And imo open source is part of that innovation and patents and intellectual property are not. . Innovation and competition, have direct relationships to ownership. Removing ownership, limits motivation, which in turn, diminishes c...

Re: Nvidia why they don't release 3D driver source

It's an impressive try to hide the "my car, your car" style like args behind a constructed condition, but sorry man, it didn't work. The result is the same. It again only shows your limited knowledge and it shows that you didn't read what others write. Also using the vocable "beg" for a reas...

While it may not seem like a big deal, the future is out there,

Re: A few sound issues

you could make hydrogen drumkits for your personal use, by recording 32 drums you like, from Battery, in timemachine, making a nice 24 bit file you can edit in audacity, trimming and exporting them one by one (as .wav) to a folder, starting at the end of the file, working forward, deleting the saved...

Re: A few sound issues

If there was a way to get my Kontakt Library in Linux Sampler I'd be in heaven! For Linux Sampler sounds, getting Dimension Pro with its sfz support, and large workable sound collection, would let you cherrypick its best sounds at your leisure, to use them in Linux Sampler, with the caveat being th...

Re: A few sound issues

If you have a dual-boot, and the windows partition auto-mounted on the linux side, you can try re-creating all the paths/folders in .wine, that Kontakt uses, and run symbolic links to them from the windows side. This worked for Wusikstation, but it is all sensibly placed in one location, the polar o...

Just an installed wine, and wineasio, after installing wineasio, run the command regsvr32 wineasio.dll it will report success, then run winecfg config utility from command line, an...

Re: Question about CPU

In phasex, the OSC's and LFO's each have a Source knob, you can turn to 'Input 1 and 2' or Input 1 or Input 2, and whatever is on the soundcard line-in will then be 'in the synth'. There are 4 OSC's so one or more of them can have that audio input, as well as any of the 4 LFO's. There are knobs for ...

Re: Nvidia why they don't release 3D driver source

You seems to believe that decompiling a binary is a hard task? Well, just do a google for "decompiler" to get a overview what is possible for a normal user, then try to imagine what possibility Industrial espionage have. Conversely, if its as easy as you claim, there is no need to beg for source co...

Re: Question about CPU

If you can't hear the xruns, don't worry, just record :) Try timemachine to record the synth audio, it saves 24bit .w64 files by default. These can be played by vlc, and imported into audacity, for editing, and exporting to .wav, mp3, flac etc versions. vlc can output the recording into qjackctl, co...

Re: Is LUBUNTU a suitable option for audio-recording tasks?

Hi, My PC is a little bit old, and I was thinking to install Lubuntu and then packages, kernels, etc for a suitable configuration for audio-recording, live guitar playing (ampsims, IR Cabs, etc). The standard distributions (kxstudio, tangostudio, ubuntustudio) are quite heavy for my PC. Any advice ...
