Re: AV Linux 2020.1.14 Release Candidate for testing only

I tried 2020.1.14 in my old LenovaW530 laptop, worked well with my KompleteAudio6 USB audio interface. I played a few synths with my keyboard. The only problem I found was that ZynAddSubFx did not work (all varieties). Tried to boot my new Dell XPS 9560, UEFI system, but could not get that to work. ...

Thanks for keeping up the good work. However the ISO link gives "403 Forbidden" error.

Re: Anyone used Pop!_OS ?

Does it offset a low-latency or realtime kernel? One of those is essential for realtime audio. Also I see it offers automatic disk encryption, which is great, but not recommended for realtime audio. I would tend to think most of the enhancements are for hardware sold by System76. If you've got an ex...

Re: Spitfire Audio free sample libraries

This looks rather interesting. I was unable to download their app however. Their system seems to recognize that I'm not running Mac/Win and offers a dialog box that says "Download other". However, clicking that does nothing. There is also an option to download the Mac/Win app,but that too does nothi...

Re: Bluetooth headphones

As far as I understand bluetooth is handled by pulse, there is no bluetooth driver for alsa (there was but it was removed). Therefore it is impossible to use a bluetooth audio device with Jack. I'd be happy to proved wrong, but I believe that is the current situation.

Re: Setting up real-time organ playing

I would suggest using AVlinux which is well optimized for audio and comes with lots of audio software. For organ sounds you check out setBfree organ plugin for B3 sounds and aoelus for pipe organ sounds.

Re: Live mixing with Linux - State of the art 2018

Getting x-runs is only weakly affected by processor speed. It is much more a problem of having background processes wake up and do some scan, for example a wifi network scan. So you should disable all unneeded services. Actually, I sort of wonder why people are so obsessed with running at absolutely...

Re: ffado without ALSA

I think you can remove snd_dice from the current session by doing as root "rmmod snd_dice". This should allow you to use ffado in the current session. I don't understand why you are unable to blacklist snd_dice but maybe google can help. You might also try sending an email to ffado-user email list (...
