Re: How to Skype with pulseaudio through jack?

Thank you very much for your great information. I will work on this again soon. For now, I took the easy way out. Plugged in my computer soundcard to my display monitor speakers and left my firewire setup turned off. Got rid of the jackpulse sinks in default.pa. Did not use jack just pulseaudio. Tri...

Re: How to Skype with pulseaudio through jack?

Thank you for this answer. I would like to try this. Of course I would disable module-jack-source and module-jack-sink ? That is to replace those with the alsa module source and sink in default.pa? I assume I use the pulseaudio bridge as well? I know this may be a silly question but how do I know wh...

Re: How to Skype with pulseaudio through jack?

Thank you again. I have been trying your suggestion for 20 minutes many times but no sound at all from skype. I did get sound with gstreamer-properties using pulseaudio and cadence pulsebridge as you directed. I must be doing something wrong, but not sure what. One would think if you can get it work...

Re: How to Skype with pulseaudio through jack?

Thank you falkTX very much for your fast reply. Yes, I did as you suggested but I could only get sound with skype when I had the pulseaudio bridge going and nothing worked with none selected. I could not hear my own voice though with skype. I was able to get gstreamer-properties to work with the cad...

How to Skype with pulseaudio through jack?

Dear All, Until recently I had everything including skype working with jack. Then I installed linuxmint 17 added kxstudio repos and got a new skype that only does pulseaudio. I use skype often and now cannot figure out how to pipe the pulseaudio through my firewire jack setup. I have a fca 202 hooke...

Re: Firewire to Thunderbolt adapter

I agree with Varpa's suggestions. I prefer firewire, as well, and use it all of the time. I have the Lenova w520 which has firewire and express card slot. I have used the onboard firewire with my Behringer fca 202 using dreamstudio. It worked just fine for my use of it. I do hope ffado does or will ...

Re: skype stopped working with jack audio

i will answer my own request since I have found a working solution. I have disabled pulse audio with autospawn = no in /etc/pulse/client.conf. I added this .asoundrc into home: pcm.!default { type plug slave { pcm "rawjack" } } pcm.rawjack { type jack playback_ports { 0 system:playback_1 1 system:pl...

[Solved]skype stopped working with jack audio

Dear All, I have DreamStudio 12.04.3 unity which I really like. Kxstudio is integrated already with a pulseaudio and jack audio sink setup. That worked great until I upgraded kxstudio. Pulseaudio no longer starts at all and the dreamstudio scripts inside qjackctl that used to work great do nothing. ...

Re: Microtuning with linux software

Woftune, it looks that way but jack is definitely running. Everything else is working with it except for skype and din.Skype was working with jack until recently. Somehow, din does not recognize jack on my system .

Thanks for the help.

Sincerely,

Re: Microtuning with linux software

Thank you Autostatic. That is a great manual. I will study the microtuning section for certain. Woftune, yes I will look at that rationale program. Thankyou. I just tried din in the terminal. It did not start with these relevant messages: Cannot read socket fd = 5 err = Interrupted system call Check...

how to kill ffado-mixer process

Dear All, As of the past few days I am having trouble getting qjackctl to start up my firewire device. All was working well before these few days. I have to kill all pulse anything, startup ffado-dbus-mixer, then ffado-mixer, the qjackctl then it was working. Now, that is not working because ffado-m...

Re: Microtuning with linux software

Thanks for all of your help. I will be trying out csound with blue one of these days. Actually I already installed blue but do not know how to use it yet. I have downloaded many blue how-to videos that will help. Woftune, I see that you use DIN. How are you starting it? Mine will not even start up. ...
