Re: Behringer xenyx x1622USB

Dear All, I got the Behringer xenyx x1622USB to work great through the USB connection for playing back music sounds from the computer and recording. I only had to start up alsamixer and choose the correct card. It showed up as the usb card so was easy to find. Once I chose it in alsamixer I found ou...

Behringer xenyx x1622USB

Dear All, I just got this mixer for my birthday from my husband. It is supposed to work in linux. I am barely getting to know how to work it. Does anyone have any experience with this mixer? I use Bodhi with the 2.6.33-29-realtime-pae kernel. I plan to record voice and a lap harp with it. Will this ...

aeolus crashes

Dear all, It seems all of the music software I have been trying with my old midi radio shack keyboard works well now except for Aeolus. I have aeolus 0.8.4 which crashes with a segmentation fault error message in console. I have an amd quad core 3ghz 12 gigs ram with kubuntu lucid 10.04 64 bit kxstu...

Re: Puppy Studio rt 3.3 or Macpup 528

I found out from the puppy site that you cannot install kernels but you can remaster puppy to include a new kernel. I am not savvy about doing that yet. I will first install puppy 3.3rt and then install E17 as the window manager . I will let you know how it turns out.

Puppy Studio rt 3.3 or Macpup 528

Dear All, I am considering installing either puppy studio 3.3 rt or macpup 528 onto my old toshiba laptop. I have tried both livecds on my old toshiba satellite pro 85 and like them both. I would actually love the beauty, speed, and polish of the macpup 528 only with an rt kernel and tuned for audio...

Re: Sitar sound for keyboards?

Thanks again. Now my qsynth works great with my humble radio shack midi keyboard. I have updated many packages and maybe that was what did the trick. Now I am working on getting aeolus to work. Actually getting help from the aeolus site. Everything else I have tried seems to work well. I forgot abou...

Re: Sitar sound for keyboards?

Dear All, Thank you all for your help. Thank you for the dreamz vst site. I just downloaded the package. I will look forward to using it. Looks like an interesting vst site. I finally put together vmpk , jackctl, qsynth with the sitar soundfont and for about 5 minutes I was able to get some acceptab...

Re: Sitar sound for keyboards?

Thank you for your replies. Yes, Capoeira, you found a better sitar sound. I agree that they are not as good as the real thing. I am not going to be getting and playing a real one anytime soon, so I will just play with the synth sitar emulations and pretend. :) Thank you Pablo for your soundfont ins...

Re: Sitar sound for keyboards?

Thank you for your reply. I imagine the sitar is difficult to emulate. I found this youtube video http://youtu.be/Uf1YAiIp_k4, a keyboard playing a good sitar sound, I thought. After I posted I found some info on this site that lead me to the general midi wiki. There is a sitar sound that is no. 104...

Sitar sound for keyboards?

Dear All,

I am looking for an authentic sitar sound for keyboards or software synthesizers . Does anyone know if lmms, yoshimi, etc., has a nice sitar sound included or that could be added on?

I use ubuntustudio lucid.

Thank you.

Marcia
