Re: Archlinux - jack2, dbus, cadence and pulseaudio issues..
I rebooted and nothing changed. Cadence segfaults. Even if driver is set to DUMMY. One thing worth noting: even that I disabled and removed jack service, pulseaudio is still started at boot. It fails because jack is dead and I set it up to use pulse to jack bridge. But it may be interfering somehow,...

Re: Archlinux - jack2, dbus, cadence and pulseaudio issues..
With driver set to DUMMY I get: $ cadence-session-start -s Initiated PulseAudio successfully! JACK Started Successfully but with ALSA: $ cadence-session-start -s Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/share/cadence/src/cadence_session_start.py", line 220, in <module> sys.exit(startS...

Re: Archlinux - jack2, dbus, cadence and pulseaudio issues..
Yes, Jack has started. I wrote "NULL" instead of "DUMMY", my bad. lsof | grep asound jackdbus 616 mks mem REG 8,4 987128 4871379 /usr/lib/libasound.so.2.0.0 Firefox also tried to use asound but after I closed it I got the same errors in cadence-logs.

Re: Archlinux - jack2, dbus, cadence and pulseaudio issues..
It's ok I guess. I can start cadence-jacksettings without issues.jack_control status
--- status
stopped
However:
jack_control start
--- start

Re: Archlinux - jack2, dbus, cadence and pulseaudio issues..
FalkTX, no need to get angry. I understood when you wrote it for the first time. The reason I try running it as a service is that cadence segfaults thus it can't manage anything here... do you have any idea why it is behaving like this?

Re: Archlinux - jack2, dbus, cadence and pulseaudio issues..
Sorry, I was afk since writing OP. Yes, I have systemd up and running. AFAIU to be able to autostart Jack I need to specify a .service file. Am I right? I wrote one like this: [Unit] Description=JACK After=sound.target [Service] User=mks ExecStart=/usr/bin/jack_control ds alsa [Install] WantedBy=mul...

Archlinux - jack2, dbus, cadence and pulseaudio issues...
Hi, I'm stuck on this one. I've installed arch tonight and it is great, unity works smoothly, lightdm is great, and systemd looks very nice. However, I can't get jack to work. This is a bit complicated. I tried several versions of jack: jack2 (official repo), jack2-dbus (official), jack2-kxstudio-db...

Re: Stripping Carla out of Cadence tools
I think it is a good idea. I percieve Cadence tools more as utilities to maintain/control audio subsystem and Carla as a plugin rack, a tool used for actual music making. Splitting them seems reasonable.

Guys, please keep this thread clean of politics and ideology. It's about donations to kxstudio.
Anna, thanks for the suggestion regarding bitcoin. I would like to try that. How do you think, FalkTX?

Re: Donations problem
My brother doesn't have one either so I doubt it's the reason. I think it may be related to you being in other country than I am.... other than that, it beats me.
