Re: native linux REAPER 5.20beta10 dev build is working nicely

One crash I've run into is when I try to set up a control surface. The option is not listed in the options, but if I search the options for "control" I do get taken to the setup screen. Selecting Mackie Universal makes REAPER go poof. I'm not very experienced with jack midi, so I may be doing someth...

native linux REAPER 5.20beta10 dev build is working nicely

It comes up occasionally in other threads, and I'd mentioned it recently in a thread about pitch correction plugins, but as of testing it today the native Linux REAPER developmental version is really coming along nicely. Justin posted yesterday about having updated the 64 bit linux build to version ...

Re: Graphical Vocal/Pitch Correction

A native linux Reaper would be awesome. I just noticed this post from yesterday at the REAPER forums. I'll try and build it later, although such things are usually a little outside of my skill set. Or maybe it doesn't need to be built, there is something about a prebuilt library in the readme. Mayb...

Re: Linuxsampler on Debian,

With Debian testing, I'd definitely recommend using the kxstudio repos and installing Carla. Carla is the simplest way to load sf2 and sfz instruments, and it's available with lv2 and vst plugins, so it will work in any of the available Linux DAWs. Also check out the sf2 and sfz instruments provided...

Re: Graphical Vocal/Pitch Correction

I've used Gsnap for basic pitch correction. It also has a "midi mode" that would allow more editing, but I haven*t tried that. They do have both 32 and 64 bit linux vsts now. http://www.gvst.co.uk/gsnap.htm The linux ports are here: http://www.gvst.co.uk/portpage.htm And, of course, REAPER works rea...

Re: 16.04 and USB audio

I've now tested Ubuntu Mate, Xubuntu and Ubuntu Studio with a Zoom R16 usb audio interface. It was recognized. I had some issues with Xubuntu - xruns and audio glitching where I shouldn't have them, but I think it was down to something I forgot or did wrong in getting things set up for realtime audi...

Re: Package requests here! (New and updates)

Is it possible to update drumgizmo to version 0.9.10? I have read that it gained linux vst support in version 0.9.9. It seems 0.9.10 is in the process of being added to Debian sid, but the package I downloaded only seems to have been built with lv2 support and not linux vst.

Re: Debian Jessie KXStudio repositories .low-latency-kernel?

Just a note for those using Jessie based distros - MX-15 has a community repository that contains Liquorix kernels compiled for Jessie. They are low latency and work as well, if not better, than Ubuntu lowlatency kernels for audio work.

Re: Tracktion T7 is out

Yes, the plugin thumbnails not working on Linux has been confirmed to me elsewhere too. And as good as native LV2 support would be in Tracktion, your work on Carla makes all the excellent LV2 plugins available, and I can't thank you enough for that. Tracktion + Carla is a far better tool than Trackt...

Tracktion T7 is out

Just a note that Tracktion has launched their T7 DAW today. Some impressive GUI updates and new features. I'm not sure how much they will help my workflow vs. T6, but I think people who work with loops libraries will like the updates. As a Linux user the big thing I hoped for was LV2 support, and al...

Re: tons of xruns with easyssp

I had weird issues (posted about a few weeks ago in the KXStudio section of this forum). I was having serious stuttering when EasySSP's gui was opened - but only with my Zoom R16 USB interface. No problems with my laptops onboard audio. This was with Mint 17.3 Cinnamon. Since then I have tested vari...

Re: will there be a 16-output carla-vst?

Hi FalkTX. Thanks so much for this! I just updated carla-vst (now using MX15 (Jessie based) with KXStudio repos and the MX15 community repo Jessie port of the latest Liquorix 4.4 kernel) and tested it with Tracktion 6.3. It scanned and showed up in my list of available plugins. The first time I load...

Re: Snow Angel - first native linux track in years

Thanks for the comments, GMaq :) I'm not much of a lead guitar player, and my playing gets worse the more takes I do. I was trying to copy melodies I had improvised on the demo from 5 years ago, and I guess it shows I was too focused on the notes I was playing rather than feeling the music in the mo...

Snow Angel - first native linux track in years

My first recording done fully with native Linux apps, since dabbling with ardour and rosegarden 8 or 9 years ago. Was using Reaper with wineasio for a number of years, but wanted to go native linux, and get away from wine. This is done with Tracktion 6. Bass and guitars are recorded from the line ou...
