Re: (Solved) Debian Jessie KXStudio repositories .low-latency-kernel?

I am also interested in that Liquorix and with the LINK mentioned below it should work. http://main.mepis-deb.org/ What exactly do I have to do to get this Kernel? Thanks S They don't appear to use metapackages to always keep the liquorix kernel up to date - so you need to install a header package ...

Re: Linux REAPER works!

And yet more REAPER for Linux news: on the dev section of the landoleet.org site, today a "elastique2.so" has appeared. Putting this into the /REAPER/plugins/ folder where you have extracted the linux dev REAPER allows the ReaTune plugin to use the Elastique engine now - so now it has the same pitch...

Re: Linux REAPER works!

So, some more experimenting with 5.20rc3. This afternoon I decided to install wine-rt, with all the 64 bit stuff from kxstudio. I then installed Airwave and tried get some windows vsts up and running. I'd actually rather use all native Linux vsts, but I was bored, and there seems to be a lot of inte...

Re: Linux REAPER works!

Just installed from the AUR and it seems to run fine, even loads carla and recognizes my other plugins without a hitch. I know the AUR version is compiling libSwell from Git. I'm curious if there's been anything new (like gui's for linux vsts) since the precompiled version at landoleet from May 7th...

Re: Linux REAPER works!

It's all beyond me, but maybe there could be a clue regarding where REAPER is looking for fonts in this recent commit:

Re: Linux REAPER works!

I've been having a lot of fun with this over the last week, and especially since the vst support has been added. It has been surprising to me how many of the vsts I use can get by without the normal gui. The only things I'm really missing are Carla and drumgizmo. Even MasterMix, which is a pretty co...

Re: real time noise cancellation plugin

As far as the noise cancellation - as the native Linux REAPER port comes along, the built-in ReaFir effect has a "subtract" mode. It allows you to take a snapshot of a track (for instance a short part with only the background noise of a microphone) and then automatically subtract that from that trac...

Re: native linux REAPER 5.20beta10 dev build is working nicely

Yes, Carla scanned and will load, but there are no controls available. Luckily, for sf2 and sfz, the linuxsampler vst is working nicely with qsampler. The settings are getting saved with the project, so once it is set up once, I haven't needed qsampler open. I have salamander drumkit sfz on one trac...

Re: native linux REAPER 5.20beta10 dev build is working nicely

Another update! Today a new build for 5.20rc3 appeared on the server, as well as a new precompiled libSwell. It has added in ReaVerb (their convolution reverb), and more importantly it has the first support of linux vst. This is without gui, but it is a big start :) mda and gvst plugins are working ...

Re: Any recent DAW comparisons?

I'd definitely prefer if Tracktion provided a manual free of charge, but they do provide ample popup information on mouse-over of just about everyting in the GUI. It gets you up and running fairly quickly and is easy to shut off when it starts getting annoying. There's some decent videos on youtube ...

Re: Any recent DAW comparisons?

It seems that Tracktion has already gotten some love in this thread, and I'll second that. Ardour is a great program, but the workflow and ease of setup and use of Tracktion fit my way of working with a far smaller learning curve. Just far less clicks and connections to make to get the same things d...

Re: native linux REAPER 5.20beta10 dev build is working nicely

I tried adding the theme from REAPER3, but no luck. I also tried dumping a jesusonic file in with the installed ones, and it didn't pick that up either. I guess it isn't able to scan for new themes and plugins yet. Quite happily I can report that I was completely wrong about adding themes and js pl...

Re: native linux REAPER 5.20beta10 dev build is working nicely

Dave, have you tried the precompiled libSwell.so? Maybe it will work on Fedora as well.
