Re: Software Amplifier for Blues Harmonica (Harp)

If you add the KXStudio repos, you can use Carla (which can use alsa) to load lv2 or vst plugins. So you could load Guitarix lv2 plugins in there, or something simpler like the MDA Combo might be a good plugin to try for harp.

Re: USB mic/line-in on KDE Mint 17.3 "Rosa": how best to achieve that?

Hi - I didn't see this thread until today. I also have an R16, and would recommend just using that. It handles 1/4 inch instrument jacks, and does Hi-Z for at least one of the 8 inputs. It works well these days with Linux, but needs kernel 4.4 or better for playback and capture. Kernel 3.19, which I...

Re: Linux REAPER works!

Just keeping up to date with recent additions to REAPER for Linux. The addition of ALSA support didn't work for me at first, but as of 5.413 it gives dropdowns for selecting input and output. So now Jack, Pulse and ALSA backends are working. Still no ALSA midi support though, just Jack. Steady regul...

Re: Linux REAPER works!

There's a new REAPER 5.405 and a new libSwell up at Landoleet. Aside from the video additions, there has been improvement for windows and file dialogs appearing on top where they belong, and there is now a Reaper icon on the top left instead of the generic X icon. v5.405 - April 21 2017 + linux: var...

Re: Linux REAPER works!

Seems Justin has taken a week to focus on the Linux version of REAPER, so there have been a lot of updates to both REAPER and libswell this week: v5.403 - April 13 2017 + jack: configurable launching of jackd + jack: allow overriding client name in reaper.ini jack_client= + linux: add reaper_python....

Re: SM MegaReapter and Salamander Kits

It's probably because it is a 16 output plugin. You are only getting output 1 & 2, the kick mics going to your tracks stereo outputs. I'm using the SM kit in Linux Reaper and I can either connect all the outputs of DrumGizmo to my left and right output for a quick and dirty stereo mix. Or I route ea...

Re: Tracktion Waveform is released

I ended up getting the upgrade from T7 package that included the DAW Essentials, microsynths and MasterMix- I've now been playing with it for a couple days. Waveform's main additions over T7 are the mixer (it gives a lot of options for how to present it), Collective (the sampler), and their new midi...

Tracktion Waveform is released

Tracktion's new DAW, Waveform, has been released today for Linux and Raspberry Pi, including a proper mixer and a new sampler, Collective. I already own MasterMix, which seems to also be included now - wish I could save some money on that, but the upgrade bundle with the DAW Essentials plugins is lo...

Some cab impulse plugins I was unaware of...

These may have been mentioned here in the past, but I did not find mention of them with a little searching. Always happy to see amp sim related stuff in linux vst format.

Re: Tracktion-on-Linux - jotting some notes down

I've been playing with T7 for the first time in maybe 6 months tonight. Carla-vst loads up and seems to work for loading lv2, sf2 and sfz's I tried with either patchbay or rack (didn't try any windows stuff). This is on Kubuntu 16.04.2 with up to date KXStudio repos (including GCC5). T7 is a really ...

Re: Linux REAPER works!

Looks like there are now REPAER 5.353 and updated libbSwell binaries up on the landoleet server. The missing Reavura.otf notation font has been fixed, and elastique has been removed for the time being (it was causing crashes, looks like Linux users are limited to soundtouch until a new Linux elastiq...

Re: Linux REAPER works!

So does copying the font over from an older bundle fix it? *EDIT - Seems to fix it, will try and upload a fixed deb later today/tonight Justin has confirmed that copying it over from 5.351 will fix it. He is also fixing the release, which I guess will appear on the landoleet server before too long.

Re: Linux REAPER works!

I noticed today that in notation view, the notes don't display properly in 5.352 with my current install of Kubuntu 16.04.2 with KXStudio repos. Kind of like a needed font is missing. 5.351 works fine. So, since 5.351 works fine on 16.04, I'll be using that for now. Has anybody else noticed this on ...

Re: Linux REAPER works!

The same setup using linux Reaper version 5.35 installed using Gmacs debian package Have you tried the 5.351 or 3.52 debs that Gmac made? I'm curious to see what type of performance increase the realtime thread scheduling that was added in at 5.351 makes. Perhaps just the ability to acheive lower l...
