Re: How to Get Jack to Detect my M-Audio Fast Track
The current kernel in Oneiric does not properly support that card. Can't remember right now which version it was added, but if you use AVLinux it works out of the box. I got the patched kernel source from the nice people at AVLinux and built a version that worked. Check out this thread: http://www.r...

Re: LFO controlled soft synths?
I've previously played around a bit with qmidiarp, but I was more wondering if there was a synth with LFO input.
Hmm, one other thought then. If I record a midi sequence with qtractor, will it record midi clock input? Or would midi clock input to qtractor change tempo for everything?

LFO controlled soft synths?
I'm wondering which (if there are any) of the available soft synths for Linux which can take an LFO signal (well, I guess that would be midi clock) to modulate sounds? As an example in this clip, there's a synth that sounds modulated in such a way after 23 seconds: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jl...

Re: Future of LinuxMusicians?
Getting back to the spammers, what do we know about them? I see that the registration form has 3 different fields that try to block bots. I don't know how good the bots are these days. Is it likely to be humans registering? It's not likely that humans are registering those. A human would never have...

Re: Future of LinuxMusicians?
Well, I've followed the links at the beginning of the thread, and they're all clogged with spam. I'm assuming they never got past the idea stage. Oh, wow, that's, eh, so much spam. And no, I haven't done anything else than just put those up. Maybe I'll just delete them... And yes, it seems that thi...

I'll see if I have time to try it out tonight. Depends on when I get home. Btw, in the description on the sf-page you mention that there are samples on your blog, but no link...

Future of LinuxMusicians?
As nathan suggested (http://linuxmusicians.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&p=22825&sid=ccb83079273bc40554d8b4b86b475f6d#p22825), I created a thread here to discuss what to do with the forum. I've setup three different bulletin boards (the ones with autoinstaller at my hosting provider) you can evalua...

Welcome!
I listened to the demo clips of your synth, it sounds really nice. When can we download and try it out?
Cheers!

Sooperlooper sound levels?
I was playing around a bit with sooperlooper yesterday to learn how it works. The thing is that I can't really figure out how to get the sound input/output setup properly. I connected it in jack like this: midi keyboard -> zynaddsubfx -> sl common input ... sl common output -> system sound With that...

Re: Build or Buy
In general you should avoid something with the absolutely latest and greatest motherboard chipset, since the support for that specific chipset might not yet be in the kernel. Support is usually available earlier for Intel chipsets.
So, before you buy, Google it!
