Re: graphically GtkControllers

I've got some knobs and background of a previous project here , an attempt to make a ShermanFilterbank Vst, (ab)use them as you like. The images are made with KnobMan for SynthEdit, both windows only programs afaik. The background was made in Inkscape. And here are also the images I made for our ent...

Re: programming; coding a/your audio tool

Do any people here have some good tips about "how to think like a linux audio developer" or "how to manage writing software", for the beginning programmer musician ? Finding a good IDE for your programming language, working with an ODT document about your steps and other informat...

Re: FEEL FREE TO EDIT/ IMPROVE OUR WIKI!!!

This message may be put as a sticky, I searched for "wiki" on the forum and this post showed up on page 4 of 7 between 101 results. Nice to see we can all add our little stones to the building, as long as we build according to the plan :) Now I have only one question: when I did a search o...

Re: wiki.linuxmusicians update

An advantage of a newsletter is for people who don't surf around on the net but just check their e-mails.
Some people prefer mailinglists, some prefer a forum. Such a weekly newsletter would give a LinuxMusicians connection to the latter group too. (sort of)
just my 0.02 euro's ...

This sounds interesting. Do you mean using hardware controllers, touch screens or webcam to midi conversion and things like that?

A welcome from me too 8)

Re: New sound card suggestions

I use a Delta1010 soundcard, and added Tapco Blend6 mixers to have preamps for line/mic and balanced connections to the soundcard. This may not what you mean to have, but I don't really get the point of a sound card with built-in pre-amps. Or I'm getting something else totally wrong. For you, a ster...

Re: Writing a JSynthLib driver

Because writing a driver is actually pretty hard when you're no experienced java developer, I've teamed up with another JSynthLib newbie and we're trying to build a more informative and guiding wiki for ourselves and future newbies. If people here have time on their hands and want to help us, please...

Re: Writing a JSynthLib driver

A question i'm stuck with at the moment is: If I want to save the settings of a single pad, and add it to another drumkit, what will I have to design ? 1. a panel / driver to edit/save/load a single pad (a sound with certain delay, level, pitch etc) ? 2. + a panel / driver to edit/save/load a single...

Re: Writing a JSynthLib driver

That depends on the quality of the MIDI Implementation and manual of the synth you're trying to write it for. With JSynthLib, I have the impression, once you wrote one driver, it's easy to write another one. The hardest part is to understand how JSynthLib works with a driver. Some other things you h...

Hi Splashman (What a very cool name!)

Have you checked out LMMS ? It can import FL projects.
There's also a Hip Hop category on the LMMS sharing platform.

Welcome !

Writing a JSynthLib driver

Recently, I started checking out if it would be possible to write a driver for my Roland SPD-11e-drumpads and decided to try doing it for JSynthLib. If someone here could give me some general starting advice for such a programming project, i 'd appreciate it 'cause I've got close to no experience wr...
