Re: Behringer UMX610 - Does it work on Linux? Or Oxygen 61?

http://www.m-audio.com/images/global/media_hqpics/Oxygen61-back.jpg No it doesn't, it has the USB and the sustain jack on the back (and the security thing that notebooks use, don't know its name). I wouldn't be using a MIDI out anyway. But strange that the 8 v2 has one and the newer bigger models d...

Re: Behringer UMX610 - Does it work on Linux? Or Oxygen 61?

I would read both manuals first. I don't know about the Behringer but the oxygen 61 has lots of configurations for the keys; range limiting, inversions, MMC, CC, program changes, it has 10 memory bank, 6 velocity curves for the note keys, you can configuure buttons as triggers, toggle values and muc...

Re: Linux synth tutorials

Thanks for that! The youtube video tutorials are awesome, I've learnt about that particular software and about soft synths in general because I had no clue. I was using presets and tweaking knobs to see what it sounded like, now I know something. Besides they are straight to the point and clear. Tha...

Re: Behringer UMX610 - Does it work on Linux? Or Oxygen 61?

hi man, I think i've told you a couple of things about the Oxygen 61 in other posts but the midi control was the one I was trying to solve. Well, solved! i finally could map the keyboard to control Qtractor and it worls great, no latency, no terminal tweaks, nothing, just GUI manual mapping. I can't...

Re: Qtractor mapping MIDI controller

YES!!! THANKS SO MUCH! I run "aseqdump" found out the cc's of the knobs and I mapped it successfuly, I'm so happy! The MMC works, the only thing is that I'll have to reconfigure the buttons because "play" triggers the play action but it doesn't stop it, that's pretty easy I think (warning: I can be ...

Re: Qtractor mapping MIDI controller

Thanks for the helpful and simple explanation. I can't make it work, so frustrating! I've went through my keyboard manual ( Oxygen 61). I know how to assign Midi CC, MMC to knobs/faders/buttons. I selected program 1. What really confuses me is this: How do I select a specific knob/fader in the Contr...

Re: Qtractor mapping MIDI controller

I've just seen a reply of Rui to my post in rncbc forums, I'm still trying to map things though. Just a pointer about the parameter, Jeremy, I've found this line on the thread Louigi suggested: The mapping works simple as follows: you map a MIDI Channel (1-16) and/or a MIDI Controller (CC# 0-127) to...

Re: Qtractor mapping MIDI controller

Thanks Jeremy, you're the man! I can see that the transport control and master volume can't be assigned yet, right? I am kind of strugling with my keyboard (oxygen 61) because I really don't fully understand Midi CC, MMC, sysex etc. I have the manual and have read it but I can't fully understand. Fo...

Re: Qtractor mapping MIDI controller

Thanks Louigi, I went to Qtractor forums, I even posted the question there because I overlooked the message where they talk about it. I hate when that happens! I'll give it a try on the weekend, I'll let you know.

Thanks very much
matías

PD: I've seen your Qtractor vid on youtube, great stuff!

Qtractor mapping MIDI controller

I can't find any documentation on how to map a MIDI keyboard controller on Qtractor. If it had simple MIDI learn like LMMS I could handle it with no problem but the "controllers..." option in Qtractor I just can't understand it. Does anyone knows how to ahieve this?

Thank you very much

spm_gl wrote:"Doesn't work" is not an error descripiton. What does lsusb say? And aplay -l ?
I already solved it thanks. I know that "it doesn't worl" is not an error message but I didn't even know the commands from which I could see the error message.
