Re: Qsampler not aware of sfz files

try qsampler from cvs head (should be tagged as version 0.2.2.28).

the released 0.2.2 is waaay too old to know anything about .sfz's or anything else than .gig's

Re: Qtractor strange behaviour whil recording midi [solved]

Than I found a bug i guess, because no matter if i choose "autobackward" or not, the red line always goes back (yes i press play-button) Version: 0.4.8 Build: Jan 18 2011 23:03:46 goes back where? maybe there's some other jack-transport-aware application there that forces it back to zero when playb...

Re: Qtractor strange behaviour whil recording midi

isn't that because you're recording while also in loop? when recording is disengaged the recorded clip unfolds over the time line as if it would be recorded without looping. qtractor doesn't loop-overdub yet :)

if looping is not set, then you probably found a terrible bug in there ... :(

Re: LV2 abGate

fwiw, lv2 gtk ui support has seen another kick on qtractor's svn trunk today (cf. qtractor 0.4.8.6+) Compiled it and tried it with abGate, Qtractor crashed when I tried to open the abGate GUI :( funnier is that it works painlessly on a 32bit system i've tested so far but crashes on sight in a 64bit...

Re: LV2 abGate

qtractor lv2 gtk ui support is, to say the least, an outrageously indulged bloat. period. there's no other single way to describe it :? fact is, it brings in a lot of crap, meaning there's a huge gtk/gnomic horror bloat lurking into qtractor's address space, if i may say such a thing. only to get so...

Re: LV2 abGate

fwiw, lv2 gtk ui support has seen another kick on qtractor's svn trunk today (cf. qtractor 0.4.8.6+) meaning that some plugin guis which were systematically crashing it before do not so anymore, at least not so fast :) however, others which were nice before, may now behave otherwise--it's the ever l...

Re: connecting the midi keyboard to Qtractor.

I'd love to see it in Qtractor as well Guess what? Qtractor svn trunk r1739 (qtractor 0.4.7.34+) now has this quantize percentage added on the MIDI clip editor (aka piano-roll) quantize tool (see Tools/Quantize... menu). You may apply this percentage for selected events time and/or duration quantiz...

Re: connecting the midi keyboard to Qtractor.

.....in Rosegarden you can quantize by percentage, so you don't get a artificial result. lets say you have one beat with four quarter notes....first one is 5ms, 2nd 6ms, 3rd 8ms and 4th 2ms off. you can than quantize by a user defined value, lets say 50% so you get 2.5, 3, 4 and 1ms and dont loose ...

Re: connecting the midi keyboard to Qtractor.

02) i downloaded very good synths for example Phasex. there is a way to use it in the MIDI track ? (now i'm recording it in the audio track connecting the phasex to the sequencer). as all synths that aren't plugins, you'll have to connect them as stand-alone: midi via alsa-midi and audio via jack. ...

Re: connecting the midi keyboard to Qtractor.

maybe iif someone explains what is actually wrong with qtractor quantization it might get fixed, eventually ;) first of all, qtractor doesn't do any quantization on recorded midi events, unless you opt to do so from View/Options.../MIDI/Capture/Quantize. however there, i may it find utterly disrupti...

Re: connecting the midi keyboard to Qtractor.

hi, 1. create a new midi track 2. add the desired instrument plugin to that track 3. connect your keyboard to master in (midi input bus) 4. arm the track for recording: press the [R] button turning to red 5. play something on the keyboard; on the mixer, check that midi signal level is being detected...

Re: Multiple Audio Input Channels into Qtractor

in qtractor parlance the term "Master" is just a name as could be any other (my english and industry knowledge is not that vast, so i stuck with the first name it crossed my mind), just that it is the default uh, bus name. you may also find that a "bus" is nothing to resemble an ardour's bus: simila...
