Re: Abandonware

@Autostatic: Could you please clarify where you hear those crackles? I assume they're in jeff's version of beatrix otherwise you'd have called them x-runs, right? In Jeff's version of beatrix they coincide with 'underrun' being printed, so I assume those are x-runs. This happens as soon as I go low...

Re: Abandonware

I uncommented line 596 in AudioDevice.c, recompiled and the lowest setting I could achieve with your version of Beatrix without having too much underruns was this: period_size=128, Buffer=256 I could go lower and the lowest possible setting without getting distortion was this: period_size=32, Buffer...

Re: Calf Compressor Opinions

I'm not such a fan of the Calf Compressor, I prefer the SC4 plug-in or the linuxDSP ones (DYN500, MBC2B). The latter two have a more analogue feel in my perception. You can also say the Calf Compressor is more neutral which can be an advantage in certain situations of course.

Which other things? kde-desktop is "just" a meta-package which shouldn't be a real issue.

But the harsh noises coming from time to time (eg at 1:10) hurt a bit. I think they're much too loud.
Thanks bluebell! I'll take a listen to the harsh noises, it's probably string noise.

Try raising the timeout setting in Jack to 2000. I think your issue are xruns, raising the timeout setting might work around this. What are your current Jack settings?

Re: The Infinite Repeat - Cala Del Aceite

Nice tune, Thanks Rapstam! Really nice vocals ( both you and the misses) and very good song writing. I like the lazy summer'ish feel of this tune. Personally I would make it more dreamy /reverb'ish ( think of beach house / moderat ) Moderat's Bad Kingdom has been an inspiration for this song. Beach...
