Re: How to set the order of multiple usb midi devices in jack ? ?

Seems indeed you're not editing the right files. Does /etc/modprobe.d/ still exist? Then you could create a new file there, something like /etc/modprobe.d/midi-devices.conf and add the lines there.

Re: Can U id this guitar?

Looks a lot like a Hofner Model 457, probably worth about $1000 in a good condition.

Re: ZynAddSubFX on a Raspberry Pi 3

Supercool! But isn't the latency a bit high? jackd -p16 -t2000 -d alsa -dhw:sndrpihifiberry -p 1024 -n 2 -r 48000 -s That corresponds to a system latency of almost half a second (1024/48000*2). And I see you also build Zyn from source with no optimization for the RPi3. Also I wouldn't use JACK but A...

Re: Nutube technology from Korg

It's basically a solid state power amp stage with a tube preamp stage, kind of like the old Music Man combo's. Personally I prefer an all-tube setup but I'll listen to some demo's first to check out how this little one stands up against its bigger kin. Interesting development though, reminds me a bi...

Re: What music did your parents play in the car at home etc?

I would have loved if my parents would have played any instrument but unfortunately they can't play any note :(. When it comes to music it's a different story, the music my dad liked and played has been a definite influence for me as it consists of some quintessential stuff: Fleetwood Mac, especiall...

Re: Ardour opens Audacious instead of folder

Looks like .wav files are associated with Audacious instead of Ardour. I'm not a KDE expert but file associations could be configured here I guess: https://userbase.kde.org/System_Settings/File_Associations/en. You can also take a look at ~/.local/share/applications/mimeapps.list and ~/.local/share/...

Re: What guitar hardware interface for Ubuntu?

The TonePort UX1 is a different product. Also the Line6 drivers are already included with the linux-image-extra package: $ modinfo snd-usb-line6 filename: /lib/modules/4.4.0-78-generic/kernel/sound/usb/line6/snd-usb-line6.ko license: GPL description: Line 6 USB Driver author: Markus Grabner <grabner...

Re: What guitar hardware interface for Ubuntu?

The Line6 POD UX1 needs drivers so it's probably not class compliant. The Focusrite Scarlett Solo 2nd gen seems to be class compliant so it should work in theory: This is untested and not officially supported, though the Scarlett range is class compliant and may work on this OS Don't get misled by a...

You don't need a patched kernel for JACK to run in RT mode.

Re: Future Linux audio hardware Interface support

Most of the guides floating around about Linux Audio OS configuration were written years ago, the information is out of date, poorly presented, not always relevant, sometimes based on fallacies and popularly repeated nonsense, sometimes lacking, confusing, contradictory, incomplete ... I could go o...
