Re: What Kind of Guitar Is That? v3

Looks a lot like a Rickenbacker Double-6 Lap Steel. Nailed it!! Very impressive sleuthing skills ;) It was the frying pan hint that put me on the right track as I knew that the very first electric Rick's were called Frying Pans. Rickenbacker called it a D-12, mine is a 1948 or 49. The horseshoe mag...

Yes I also really love the looks of this guitar. And it plays like a dream, the neck profile suits me very well. I don't like the sound though, I just don't dig ceramic PU's :(.

Re: What kind of guitar is that?

Exactly my thoughts but this guitar might have issues with the neck joint near the headstock, looks like it might have ben cracked but I'm still unsure. If a luthier tells me it has been cracked...

Re: What kind of guitar is that?

That's the exact same guitar :D And thanks, it's a great guitar but I don't like the Dirty Fingers so I'm still thinking about what to do with it :?

And who's next? Who has got some mystery guitar to share?

We have a winner! Extra bonus points for the exact version, the photo you posted is a different model as it has no sunburst and no neck binding.

It's not a Les Paul DC, the double cut of a Les Paul DC is a bit rounder.

42low wrote:That small switch, is that a build-in distortion?
No, it's a coil tap.
42low wrote:My first electric (les paul) had it build in that way too. Working on 9v battery.
And if so, this one could be easy from the early 80's.
Yes, 1980.

Not an Ibanez, you're very close with the dating though, this guitar is from 1980.

Add the KXStudio repo's: http://kxstudio.linuxaudio.org/Repositories Then install the AVL drum plugins with apt-get: apt-get install avldrums.lv2 These are standalone plugins so no need for Calf Fluidsynth. The other soundfonts can be loaded with a Fluidsynth LV2 plugin after having installed the fl...

Re: ZynAddSubFX on a Raspberry Pi 3

You can give the audio driver a higher realtime priority with the rtirq-init package when using plain ALSA, that would have almost the same effect as using JACK with realtime priority. As for JACK using multiple cores, unfortunately that's not a compile time option :( Jack2 is SMP aware though but o...
