Re: In Debian squeeze (and ubuntu lucid): /limits.d/audio.conf

Yes and no. Just checked the jack-audio-connection-kit-0.118 package for Lucid, and indeed, there is an option to install an audio.conf file (through a debconf template). But it's not enabled by default. So yes, it's not necessary anymore to do it manually and no, it's not automatically done when in...

Yeah, stuff like this is a lot of trial and error. But if you do it more regularly you'll get the hang of it ;)

Are the Bristol softsynths included with Rosegarden? Or are you trying something else?

And that's done by following the suggestion, so sudo apt-get install checkinstall

Re: (LIRC header) Configure error RoseGarden

Those dependencies were debs also or did you compile them yourself? Not sure if checkinstall also automaticall...

Re: (LIRC header) Configure error RoseGarden

Chipfryer, make sure you use sudo checkinstall make install instead of the final make install . First install checkinstall of course. What this app does is making a .deb of your make install routine. This makes it easier to remove it and could prevent potential screw-ups :) It's not necessary of cou...
