Re: What place does music hold in your life?
It's just there, an intrinsical part of my life. It's much like how GMaq describes it with the main difference that it will be an ES-335 they have to pry out of my fingers.

Re: Arturia Midi Driver - has anybody got it working in WINE? (subject amended)
It won't work. The software needs a driver and it's either impossible or very hard to get that to work in Wine. I have a Beatstep Pro myself and tried the Arturia software in Wine. But it didn't recognize anything so for updating or configuring the device I have to resort to a supported OS.

Re: wiki.linuxaudio.org DokuWiki updates
I have slightly adapted the CSS of wiki.linuxaudio.org : Size of pre and code elements is now the same as the rest, it was set at 120% Increased line-height to 1.5em Increased font-size from 12px to 14px Changed text-align from justify to unset This way the wiki pages look a bit less cluttered and c...

Re: rtcqs v0.5.2 released
I've updated the initial post. rtcqs is a small utility that checks your Linux installation within a real-time audio context. It basically follows all the topics covered in https://wiki.linuxaudio.org/wiki/system_configuration and reports any possible bottlenecks regarding those topics.

Re: rtcqs v0.5.2 released
Thanks sunrat. The binary is much bigger because it includes a Python runtime and all the Python dependencies, it's kind of a Python Flatpak
For more info see https://pyinstaller.org/en/stable/

Re: Problem with AVLinux 21 and Jack
Once in the newly created 'writable' USB boot environment:- sudo rsync -av SSD:/var/cache/apt/ /USB:/var/cache/apt This can break your installation. It is really better to create a list of packages on the source installation and then install all the packages using that list on the destination insta...

Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now?
I think it's mainly plastic but appears to be polycarbonate which is very strong. Seems well damped though. Preamp is good, certainly better than the one in my Soundcraft desktop mixer which I run it through. Haven't tried the USB out. Nice! I'll add it to my list of contenders for a second turntab...

Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now?
@autostatic I'm envious of your turntable. I have a lowly Audio Technica LP5. :D Thanks! That LP5 looks great too. Is the casing made out of metal too or just the platter? And is the built-in preamp ok? Bought the Technics second hand in the pre-RSD era. Turned out to be a better investment than cr...
