Re: Best DAW for the casual beginner?

Thank you all for the tips! 1. Ardour I think that, apart from Qtractor, Ardour might be something for me. I always say that if you do not know a lot about a certain sort of application (like a word processor or a DAW) then choose the most popular one because then finding someone who can help you i...

Re: Anecdote for those who say that you can't make good music with free software

All the best music is made without any software. :P So true, they are indeed exclusive of each other... I think it boils down to "where there's a will there's a way". Music begins with a thought and through an infinite number of potential means that initial thought becomes sound, in my op...

Re: Extremophile (You're a star)

Hi,

Enjoyed it, thanks! Great Sounds!

Presswerk is an incredibly good plugin, it's worth it's price for the Limiter alone, but some of the drum compressors are amazing as well.

Re: The first experiments of designing sounds on VCV Rack

@psyocean Sounding great, I don't hear any flaws though... Nice playing of the melodies with feeling. I can see how the rack could be addictive once you get started... a rig that can grow with your changing needs and new modules to experiment with... It's a charm bracelet for synthesizer freaks! @da...

Hi,

Enjoyed it, thanks for posting! Always impressed by the palette of sounds in Yoshimi. Good phrasing of notes in your melodies even when you are doing variations on the main theme. :)

Hi,

Unless I'm missing something GCDMaster hasn't seen updates since 2006, that's 13 years ago!! I would be amazed if it would still run on any modern Distro..

Re: The house covered snow (instrumental)

Hi,

A very impressive composition! Very well arranged with the interplay and counterpoint between the piano and strings. This is one of the best examples of orchestral-style MIDI programming with Linux I have ever heard. Can you share what instruments you used for the sounds?
