@thetotalchaos

Thanks very much for taking the time to check that out and reply with your findings! There have been a lot more fixes and improvements and I'm hoping to upload another RC soon to find any last issues before the final release..

Do you have the plugin path set properly in Carla's settings? Also do you have the "experimental" features enabled in Carla's settings as well?

Re: Sunday Jam

Thanks. This is an acoustic guitar, the Shiraki. The processing is made using a free Voxengo plugin: Boogex. It's a cabinet simulator with a reverb unit, bass/treble/high controls and an EQ. The lead was fun, although all of this was quickly thrown together, nice when its fresh, now I find all kind...

Re: The strange in life

Hi psyocean,

A very emotional piece of music, I like how it moves from simple single note phrases to faster and more complex parts and also the tempo shifts. The piano sound is also very good!

The image quality in your video is very good too, is it smartphone footage or a video camera?

Re: Sunday Jam

Nice!

Are the "electric" sounding leads your acoustic guitar or an electric guitar? Strong groove that evolves nicely, love the lead guitar tone and the acoustic chords that pop out here and there.

Re: Elegy in B minor for cello and piano (classical)

Hi,

This sounds great, very well done! I'm very impressed at the sounds coming from the SF2 in MuseScore. I think your composition plays to the strengths of the sounds and doesn't try a lot of stuff that might show their limitations.

Re: AV Linux 2020.1.14 Release Candidate for testing only

OK some more UEFI research from my own experience.. This week I finally upgraded my main desktop (aka The AV Linux Mama) which was about 11 years old with a recent Gigabyte X399 AORUS Pro mobo and a Ryzen Threadripper 2970WX 24 core 48 thread processor..   OK enough about...

Re: AV Linux 2020.1.14 Release Candidate for testing only

Hey Glen, I am always satisfied to see your project back in action, now based on the latest Debian stable. I have a question (report) about the custom installer. In the previous versions, i remember an issue, that in order to install AVLinux on my PC, a mandatory swap partition has to be created. M...

Re: AV Linux 2020.1.14 Release Candidate for testing only

Dear Glenn, I tried to find linvst.so to convert mtpowerdrumkit 2 vst and make it work in Ardour, but I couldn't find it. I used catfile search but no luck there too. Is it absent from this RC? Thanks a bunch Att.: Rodney Yes it's there in /usr/local/lib/vst, that's where the Windows VST's are plac...

Re: AV Linux 2020.1.14 Release Candidate for testing only

This is regarding supported hardware and is off topic here really, but I should post somewhere. I use AVLinux with a touch-screen and a SoundCraft Ui24R and the combination all seems to work pretty flawlesly, subject too the screen being only single-touch. The Ui24R works beautifully as a mixer for...

Re: Votre Majesté

Hi,

Great groove on this one! Love the drum sounds and the guitar has a really cool metallic tone (not in the heavy sense) that rings out nicely in the mix. Also like the breakdown in the middle with the audio clips. Very nice work!

Re: Deeper And Deeper

Hi,

I like it! The 80's John Carpenter movie sounds with the dissonant pads are really cool. I think the mix is really good too, every distinct part is very clearly discerned. Love how the arpeggiated synth parts are so much part of the percussion as well.

A fun one to listen to!

Re: Rated Blue - "I'm A Ram" (TRIPPY MIX)

I really like that raw sound! Great track again! I don't know, but have you thought about placing the bass in the center? Hi lilith! Thanks for listening! Here comes a very long answer about the bass... When stereo was gaining acceptance as the new standard in the mid to late 60's a lot of the mixi...

Re: Rated Blue - "I'm A Ram" (TRIPPY MIX)

Yeah, I've seen a concert of that tour in Montreal, with Sonic Youth and Social Distortion opening. August 1984. One of the best. I've too quickly mistaken the clip as one of the Rust Never Sleeps tour. This said do you guys work on originals ? Wow! That must have been a great show to be at! Lol, y...

Re: Rated Blue - "I'm A Ram" (TRIPPY MIX)

I don't disagree with your comments but this video at about 5:39 gives at least some indication where things were coming from for that vocal line: https://youtu.be/x-XnPXL_HMA Before clicking the link I kinda knew it was from Rust. The whole thing is hypercharged. OTOH I find that the context of yo...
