Your wishlist for the future of hydrogen

Hi,

i've started a small poll on the frontpage of the hydrogen website (hydrogen-music.org).
You can vote there on your favourite features (or general directions) that should be in future version of hydrogen.
Just notify me if i should add an item to this list!

Re: xruns and Macs

The Xrun-Problem exists on all operating systems - but it appears differently. On linux, you get these events which are called "xruns". This is nothing else then a notification which says that the buffer of your sound output/input was not filled fast enough. I'm running OS X and i can see ...

Re: Hydrogen 0.9.5 released

Hi!

There is a project which uses the hydrogen codebase to build a lv2-capable synth: http://gabe.is-a-geek.org/composite/ . I don't know how usable this is at the moment.
I think that there are no other intentions to build a lv2 plugin from the other hydrogen dev's at the moment.

Re: Hydrogen 0.9.5 released

Hi Jeremy! Thanks for your list, this might help me! Are the bugs (1) and (4) of your reproducible for you with the final version of 0.9.5? I have tested them a little bit now, but i can't get it to crash. The jack portnames thing looks more like a reproducable bug :) I'll put on our bugtracker and ...

Re: Hydrogen 0.9.5 released

I use H2 solely as a sampler right now and that works ok. Ok as in 'could be better', I've been using 0.9.5 rc1 for a while and it is the buggiest application in my workflow. Hopefully the final 0.9.5 release runs in a more stable manner. Jeremy Hi Jeremy! No, it is mostly the same as the rc1. Only...

Re: Hydrogen 0.9.5 released

Hi! No, there's no jack-session support at the moment. Until now, nobody requested this and i guess that no other developer uses this at the moment. The jack transport is as good/bad as in the the 0.9.5 beta versions :-( I'm lacking the skills to debug it, since i'm not doing the audio-development i...

Hey ho!!

Hydrogen itself is not able to operate with soundfonts. Is it possible to convert a soundfont to wav, ogg or something like this? Then you could import them easily in hydrogen!

Re: jack_session

Lash, Ladish and now jack_session. Looks like a battle of the session managers is about to happen. Can you give us a comparision? That would be great! Even for us developers it is hard to "follow" all of these trends, especially if one doesn't use any of them :) As i understood it in the ...

Re: ardour 2.8.11 is out..

I think that the passage about the subscription refers to the OS X users. You have to pay (one time) for ardour to get some features on OS X, which are NOT included in the free version: The free version of Ardour 2.8.11 for OS X Intel does not support saving AudioUnit plugin settings, or using prese...

Re: First post... Need help getting setup for live performance

Hi! As Jerermy said already, hydrogen is able to do most of those things.. It will work from hydrogen 0.9.4 and above. I think what Jeremy meant is that hydrogen 0.9.5-beta2 has a gui-midi-learn feature for some of the gui elements, whereas 0.9.4 has just a table where you can define midi bindings. ...
