Re: ORCHESTOOL on AVLinux
The orchestral sets don't, and although someone has tried to provide a VST3 linux plugin version (through, i suspect, some sort of converter like yabridge), I, and I speak only only for myself, have not been able to get them working. That someone is me. And it's not yabridge (weird idea), it was bu...

Re: ORCHESTOOL on AVLinux
The pianos do, because they have dedicated linux VST2 plugins. The orchestral sets don't, and although someone has tried to provide a VST3 linux plugin version (through, i suspect, some sort of converter like yabridge), I, and I speak only only for myself, have not been able to get them working. Re: ORCHESTOOL on AVLinux
I can't get them to work either. The OT piano, which is a linux vst2 plugin, works fine. (and sounds pretty decent)
AVLinux here too.

Re: Building a synth in HISE without any scripting
David, can we use HISE to build LV2 plugins yet? Alex. I think the next version of JUCE should include LV2 support which means HISE will as well. Excellent. Thanks for the heads up. I have a long way to go learning how to use HISE and build a plugin, and it'll be a sample plugin, but i'll be happie...

Re: CLAP: The New Audio Plug-in Standard
To quote from https://lwn.net/Articles/893048/ (my emphasis) Developers want to write once and be able to compile for all architectures, OSes, etc. JUCE is the de-facto standard and overall king in this realm. Without JUCE buy-in, a new format will just muddy up the waters for development and be an...

Re: New Software: Tembro, All-in-one instrument (Sampler or Rompler)
Hi, I posted at the same time as Alex... Just to interject with the JACK metadata situation with regards to AV Linux MX Edition jackd2 in AV Linux is simply the JACK2 version in Debian Bullseye, I don't go out of my way to start repackaging Debian core library stuff and it's not overly likely Debia...

Re: New Software: Tembro, All-in-one instrument (Sampler or Rompler)
I got libcalfbox and tembro to compile in AV-MX21 after installing libsndfile1-dev (don't know why this did not show up in synaptic when I put in sndfile...). However, tembro crashes: $ tembro [tembro] ERROR 2022-04-18 22:58:53,098 template.start: Caught crash in execpthook. Trying too execute atex...

Re: Any Distro Hoppers Out There?
My goal is to be making music. Then go with AV Linux MX. There's a lot of customization you need to do to a stock kernel (and distro that uses such a kernel) to get the best audio/music performance. And AV Linux has all that done for you. Another vote for AVL-MXE. It's been excellent here for some ...

Re: New Software: Tembro, All-in-one instrument (Sampler or Rompler)
Nils, I got the jack version bug sorted out, and Tembro now behaves as it should. (as well as Fluajho, which was the original bug I reported on the website.) Thanks again for your help, and nice work on these apps. I think they'll both be handy when sketching out musical ideas. I've tested both in A...

Re: New Software: Tembro, All-in-one instrument (Sampler or Rompler)
I was being facetious. I think it's licensed under Creative Commons Non-profitable Attitude. According to that license, you can sell the samples as long as you lose money on every sale, and you get to be verbally abusive to your customers as a result. You need a license to be verbally abusive to yo...

Re: Steinberg Cubasis now on Chrome Os
@sjzstudio and @robbert-vdh: thank you for the info. I'm really curious if this means if it's possible to quickly and easily port Cubase to Linux. "Cubasis" not Cubase in it's entirety.. two different things The groundwork for ChromeOS and Android should make it easily "port-able&quo...
