scanning for new plugins

Hey y'all, in Reaper, if new plugins are installed, Reaper scans for ONLY new plugins which takes a few seconds during launch. Ardour, yes I know there's an option for scan for new plugins as launching but for some reason, it scans the entire database of plugins on my system.. I thought since 'alrea...

Re: yabridge and wine-staging 9.7

My solution is even simpler: I don't use Windows software on Linux. ;) With you without one I would say 99.9% because that 0.1% for me was for a couple of things but I found a workaround already so I still keep it at 99.9%. there's always something that I need and I would look all over and can't fi...

Re: Slowly resigning myself to yet another reinstall...where to go?

falkTX appears mostly focused on Cardinal these days. He abandoned his idea of making a new KXStudio distro based on KDE Neon years ago. IIRC, he expressed at the time that Ubuntu Studio's approach of using a meta-package that converts a regular distro into one tuned for pro audio was a better path...

Re: guitarix2-0.46.0 released

As I got the TwoNotes Opus for a bday present, Genome comes with it.. They have Conex. When I saw Conex, I couls swear they ripped you off dude. Conex reminded me of Guitarix and now with this AI stuff, you've done it. This should be now in the same class as all the WIndows and Mac commercial stuff....

For quad channel files, you need to set the source of each channel to File 1 (assuming it's loaded in the first file slot) and select the appropriate tracks.

@elcalen, that did the trick.. Thanks!!

LSP Stereo Reverb with True M7

Hey, does anyone know how to load the True reverb IR's from True M7? The IRs are labeled with the letters L and R for left and right but for the TRUE reverb, they need to be combined and then they will be labeled with an A. I can do that in ir.lv2 and Klangfalter but ir.lv2 doesn't always save the s...

Re: Slowly resigning myself to yet another reinstall...where to go?

I added kxstudio to my repositories list to get all the additional stuff not available in the Mate repos. It works very well. Be aware that some third party plugins, mainly those not developed by falktx, are not maintained regularly in KX any more so only older versions are in their repos. It's wor...

Re: Slowly resigning myself to yet another reinstall...where to go?

AV Linux MX Edition 23.2 ISO! Personally I just use Arch and configure it the way I want it but AV Linux MX seems to be a great choice judging by the users here. And no, I'm nowhere close to knowing what I'm doing but Arch Wiki is pretty good for step by step setup. KXStudio near dead?? Seriously? T...

Re: yabridge and wine-staging 9.7

I'm not a coder, and barely even a typer :( . A fairly crucial need in wine, is the ability to process the often convoluted installation/license/registration schemes and tools, and even to accurately detect a linux internet connection in the ways(s) that various windows product manufacturers produc...

Re: yabridge and wine-staging 9.7

I'm curious, who is actually using Wine for anything else but audio? The main use seems to be games. Yeah I was just about to mention that. Maybe a branch of Wine specifically focused on proaudio for those who really need their Windows VSTs maybe necessary? Think about it! We've got many mig...

Re: yabridge and wine-staging 9.7

I just installed it recently. Youlean Meter works, Voxengo Span works ... many other plugins I tried failed. I´m only using it for non critical stuff like analyzer and maybe some reverb (Valhalla), but try to avoiding it for synths.. It´s nice to have, but I don´t need it. Exactly! I've learned the...

Re: yabridge and wine-staging 9.7

I can't say it enough times, if you really rely on Wine for your workflow and you have a version that supports your Plugins, DO NOT blindly update Wine, it now routinely breaks Plugin functionality... There are situations to ride the bleeding edge and there are times to lock versions and treat your...

Re: yabridge and wine-staging 9.7

Yeah broke for me too, I used downgrade. I spoke with the dude on Discord. I was told an announcement is coming soon.. I'm curious, who is actually using Wine for anything else but audio? I mean we can work around Wine if a plugin stops working. Well except for the non synth user. Are folks switchi...

yabridge and wine-staging 9.7

Wow, wine-staging jumped from 8.2 to 9.7 on Arch and now it's not compatible with yabridge at least on my system. Anybody else experiencing issues?

for Calf-Transient-Designer alternative maybe checkout at the bottom of page for "Transperc" @ https://www.apisonic-audio.com/freeware.html That's what I've been using since I found it on linuxdaw.org when the site was launched or whenever it was first available. I never mentioned it as I...
