Re: Ubuntu PPA for *all* Linux Multimedia stuff
Hi falktx. There seems to be a problem with Hydrogen and the version of liblash that your ppa proviodes. When I try to run Hydrogen, I get this: hydrogen: error while loading shared libraries: liblash.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory I actually have liblash installed f...

Re: Rosegarden freezes when started
Well, still have not found a solution, but found a nice workaround for my problem: Open Octave MIDI. Just today I realized that falktx's repo has it, so I went ahead and installed it. And it reads most of my Rosegarden sequences without problem. Well, not the solution I was looking for, but works fo...

@touchstyle - OK, I'll try that and let you know the outcome. Thanks.
@onnonymous - I don't have KDE or Gnome installed, only LXDE, as I wanted a light Window Manager to do multimedia work.

Re: Rosegarden freezes when started
Yes, it happens with a regular kernel too.raboof wrote: This would cause Rosegarden to crash on startup, but not freeze the rest of your system.
Does this happen with the 'regular' kernel too?

Re: Rosegarden freezes when started
Have you checked /var/log/syslog and /var/log/messages? Do you have sufficient memory? If not, have you configured swap? Yeah, I checked those log files but everything seems normal. I can post their output here if needed. I have a swap of 4GB configured in that system. Seems that this is related to...

Rosegarden freezes when started
Hi all. I've been looking for a solution to this for a few days but have not found anything... I recently installed Ubuntu 10.04 as a command line system only, then added the packages I needed for MIDI and Audio work. I'm using LXDE and kernel 2.6.33 rt from https://launchpad.net/~bojo42/+archive/rt...

Re: cpu frequency scaling
Well, after a little tweaking and experimentation, I found that by editing /etc/init.d/ondemand I can make the governor change permanent. I just opened the file and on this section for CPUFREQ in /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu*/cpufreq/scaling_governor do [ -f $CPUFREQ ] || continue echo -n ondemand > ...

Re: cpu frequency scaling
Hi guys! Recently, I downloaded an Ubuntu 10.04 Minimal CD and installed a CLI, then just added the software I use (I'm using LXDE as Window Manager). After experimenting some xruns and running the Realtime Configuration script, I realized I had problems with cpu scaling too. I installed the cpufreq...

Re: Behringer UMX610 - Does it work on Linux? Or Oxygen 61?
I would read both manuals first. I don't know about the Behringer but the oxygen 61 has lots of configurations for the keys; range limiting, inversions, MMC, CC, program changes, it has 10 memory bank, 6 velocity curves for the note keys, you can configuure buttons as triggers, toggle values and mu...

Re: Behringer UMX610 - Does it work on Linux? Or Oxygen 61?
Yeah, the DAW that comes with it is EnergyXT. Someone on Ubuntu forums told me that the previous Behringer keyboard, the UMX 61, worked perfectly on Linux: I have the older UMX61 model keyboard, and all the MIDI stuff works fine in Linux. I'd expect the UMX610 to be the same because it looks like th...

Re: Musix 2.0
Such a fantastic distro - I was finding v1.0 a little old but had been using it happily for ages - had switched to Ubuntu Studio for a newer release but found it far too unstable. So happy with the new release. Rock on Musix! Glad you're happy with Musix 2.0, lotusleaf. We're working on v3.0 wich h...

Re: First post... Need help getting setup for live performance
Well, I don't know if I understood you correctly, but here it goes: Hydrogen could work if you were only needing percussion tracks. However, if I understood correctly, you'll be using vocal tracks and/or rhythm guitar parts on some songs. Am I right? If that's the case, then I think you're better of...

Behringer UMX610 - Does it work on Linux? Or Oxygen 61?
I planning on buying later on a Behringer UMX610 controller, but just wanted to be sure it works on Linux. Anyone using it? Would recommend? Do everything works - including the programmable controllers? Please share your experiences. On the other hand, the Oxygen 61 also grabbed my attention with th...
