Well, MuseScore is really working for me right now for Chord Charts. Latest stable version as of today (1.1) includes some great features for this.

Actually, I was going to sugest Muse 2 beta; maybe that way these problems will clear up. Anyway, let me know when you sort it out. In the meantime, I'll take a look at OpenOctave (or maybe get back to Rosegarden for a while)

Already tried that, but didn't work. When I try reinstalling the packages it just removes Muse again.

Seems like some kind of conflict with the liblash version.

I have not tested those kernels, but I am running the 2.6.37 Liquorix kernel right now on Ubuntu Studio 10.10 Maverick. No problems until now. However, I have not tried it on Lucid.
