Re: which usb audio interface?

Hi all! I see that the wiki page at http://wiki.linuxmusicians.com/doku.php?id=alesis_io2_express still says that the only mode possible with the io2 express is 24 bit at 48kHz, although the only link that states that is dead. Is this this still an issue, or does it work at other sample and bit rate...

Re: cpu frequency scaling

Switch off Turbo Boost. The Linux timer can't handle this. I experienced faster tempo in Rosegarden for a few seconds and then Audiotracks were totally out of sync. AFAIK Turbo Boost can only switched off in the BIOS. I too have experienced some tempo variations for a few seconds too, on rare ocass...

Re: cpu frequency scaling

Studio32, maybe StudioDave is referring to this little "hack" I explained before: Well, after a little tweaking and experimentation, I found that by editing /etc/init.d/ondemand I can make the governor change permanent. I just opened the file and on this section for CPUFREQ in /sys/devices...

Re: Running MuseScore

Yes, that window. You get it by selecting View - Marker View.

I'll try that as soon as I get home, and let you know the results. Thanks.

Re: MusE2 is now available, full dssi-vst support is in!

Thanks! However, I'm still having the same problem with the markers window. I posted about it here: http://www.linuxmusicians.com/viewtopic.php?f=47&t=8173 . I noticed that OpenOctave MIDI, which is based on MusE's source, has the same markers window glitch. May it be that I'm missing some libra...

Muse2 Markers View not openning

Hi again.

When I open Muse 2 and click on View - Markers, the markers window doesn't open.

Does anyone has the same problem and/or know how to solve it?

Thanks.

Request: Update Rosegarden

Hi FalkTX!

Rosegarden 12.04 is the most recent version. KXStudio still has 11.11.42. Is it possible to update this package?

Thanks.

Re: Is LUBUNTU a suitable option for audio-recording tasks?

I think his doubt is what dbus in jack is for. I have the same doubt. I run jack over qjackctl wit dbus-option unchecked. When would you check this box, and what for? Ladish f.e. needs jackdbus but manages jackd on it's own. So I wonder what this is all about. After exhaust searching, it seems I ha...

Problem with some LV2 plugins

Hi. I'm running Ardour 2.8.12 on Arch 64. I don't know why, but many of my LV2 plugins stopped working on Ardour. When I try to start a previous session done on Ardour - which has LV2 plugins - it freezes or just force-closes. Here's the output in Ardour of a session that just forced-closed on me: A...

Quantization problem in Rosegarden

I'm using Rosegarden 12.04 on Arch Linux. When I quantize a segmant with long notes that fall in the middle of the beat, the quantizer divides them instead of just aligning them. For example, if a segment has a dotted quarter note on the half of the second beat, after quantizing it gets divided into...

Re: Is LUBUNTU a suitable option for audio-recording tasks?

Hi, My PC is a little bit old, and I was thinking to install Lubuntu and then packages, kernels, etc for a suitable configuration for audio-recording, live guitar playing (ampsims, IR Cabs, etc). The standard distributions (kxstudio, tangostudio, ubuntustudio) are quite heavy for my PC. Any advice ...

Re: 64 vs 32

If I have only 4GB of RAM... Most of my recording systems are 64 bit, except AV Linux, which is 32 bit. I really haven't noticed any big improvement over a 64 bit system when running AV Linux. However, if you are running a 32 bit system with 4GB RAM, I would use a PAE kernel to avoid throwing away ...
