Looks like the linux world is centred towards lilypond... I'm really liking more Mup, as far as I see, but am a little held back to change precisely for the same reason: Lilyponds seems to be the "standard" notation package in Linux, and is very well documented in their website and all ar...

Thanks. I was looking too at Mup from Arkkra Enterprises, at it looks very good too. Its syntax looks easier than Lilypond's. At the bottom of this page is an example of how to make slashes for Chord Charts: http://www.arkkra.com/doc/uguide/slashmrk.html This is what I'm looking for, adding, of cour...

Take a look at these two articles. Good info on loop manipulation and beat slicing using various apps on Linux.

Thanks for the suggestion on Tuxguitar, although not exactly what I was looking for. Anyway, it would be useful for writing tabs to my students, so I'll download it :D It seems that the "mighty" Lilypond has the answer to what I'm looking for. Take a look at this reference: http://lilypond...

Drumkit for Hydrogen

Hi. I'm creating a drumkit for hydrogen (actually the first I create - kind of experimenting), based on some samples of Sonic Reality's Reality Drums. Added a little reverb using Ladspa's Freeverb 3. Here is a short demo. Still not multilayer, but sounds pretty good. http://rapidshare.com/files/1324...

Chord Charts

Hi. Which notation editor would be best to create jazz/pop chord charts? I've taken a look on MuseScore and Lilypond. MuseScore is very easy to use, but the hash marks are a little hard to get in place, and everytime I make a system break they all get misplaced. Lilypond, on the other hand, handles ...

Hey welcome to the forum! I'm from Texas but Puerto Rico is cool. I've never been but I have a friend named Andy who is from there. So, how are the different programs comparing with the other? Are you finding that open source is better or closed source is better? Actually, I like 'em so far. Ardour...

Newcomer from Puerto Rico

Hi to all. I'm a newcomer (guess that's pretty obvious by now!!) to the forums. Currently using UbuntuStudio 8.04-1, and dual booting Windows XP (I refuse to Vista Upgrade!!!), but my goals are to move completly to Linux. Just have to keep WinXP for a while, I use Sibelius and Cubase mostly, but I a...
