Re: General Pipewire setup tips?

If you are aiming for low latency, try using non-orthodox values like 48/48000 or 96/48000. For me, they work much better than something like 64/48000 or 128/48000. Agreed, I noticed the same. Pipewire-jack works much better with 48/48000 than 64/48000. It does, and to my my experience, by a good m...

Re: AVL-MXE 23.2: Set soundcard buffer size

The simplest method is to copy the pipewire.conf file from /usr/share/pipewire to ~/.config/pipewire and then set the necessary values there. If you want more flexibility your setup, check out the documentation. I hope this information helps you!

Re: General Pipewire setup tips?

That tweaking with voltage and frequency settings worries me a bit. What exactly does that entail? If I mess up then it won't make the laptop explode and I can always restore defaults in the BIOS right? If you set the voltage level lower than the CPU requires, the PC will simply reboot and restore ...

Re: General Pipewire setup tips?

I understand that the following advice would be a bit off-topic, as you asked for tips on Pipewire configurations... However, I'd like to recommend that you lock the all-core frequency of your CPU in UEFI and disable C-States. It requires some tweaking with voltage and frequency settings, but it's w...

Re: pipewire: is buffer period not a thing anymore?

Good day!

Recently I came across a rather interesting discussion on Gitlab that contains pretty comprehensive answers from the developer of Pipewire regarding latency, periods, buffers, etc... I hope this information will be helpful to you!
