I have an RME FireFace 800 with black audio ADA converters but I also have an old Digidesign USB 2 interface for playback and maybe connect a guitar or a bass. So I'll be trying the new AVL this weekend!

Re: AV Linux MX Edition 23.1 (AVL-MXe) Released!
Awesome news, I kept checking to try out the new AVL-MXe I do think it should be important (unless there are some news I do not know about) to point out that firewire devices and pipewire "work" but the latency is abysmal. I read that wtay mentioned at some point, during the release of pip...

Re: Feliz Navidad (al infierno)
How funny this is! Thank you for sharing such an elaborate humour piece. Your adaptation of the melody to other modes, the key changes, reharmonization etc. You clearly know what you're doing and you are certainly giving it the best possible use it could have, I mean ROTFL Thanks, glad you liked it...

Re: Continuing the jack/pipewire debate...
Let's say your Distro comes with PipeWire in a good solid recent version, you are new to Linux and you want to try Ardour but your stems to import are all at 44.1Khz.. PipeWire's default is 48000Khz and Ardour is either going to blunt force convert the sample rate on import or it's going to accommo...

Re: Continuing the jack/pipewire debate...
Just a reminder that Pipewire isn't just an audio system but is also intended to allow hard real time work with video too. I have read that but really don't fully comprehend what it means in daily use, As far as Audio playback through Media Players or Video Editors I've never had a sync issue and e...

Re: I'm willing to pay for this
For what is worth, I am willing to pay for the development of such plugin. I understand where you're coming from: I started with Impulse Tracker and used it for years. With no other tracker I can get into the flow I had with IT (except for Schism Tracker, but that's because it's an IT clone :::)::)...

I'm willing to pay for this
For what is worth, I am willing to pay for the development of such plugin. Many guitarists would like a guitar with certain measurements to fit their technique and sound. I want to do the same. My instrument is a MIDI Event List Plugin with the specific custom shorcuts I want in combination to the ...

I don't believe alternate workflows could fit my needs but...
The same way a guitar player might want a neck thickness, certain pickups and this and that to make the most perfectly suited instrument to their playing style I want to get my MIDI "musical instrument" off the ground. This instrument is for me the 1993's MIDI Event List with its original ...

Small CASH budget to get MIDI plugin off the ground
I'll pay to for this to be developed to the end but will also pay to at least get the initial code I've already have to run let's say in Reaper, just to get the main interface running. The task is about the creation of a cross platform MIDI Event List plugin that will basically allow me to write MI...

Re: Forever Newbie Seeks The Light
Hello Ed, welcome, glad you decided to join us! One of my goals in life is to fund the creation of a cross platform MIDI plugin that would mimic this event list with all of its original shortcuts. (Basically the MIDI plugin wil be a sequencer within a sequencer). There is a modest budget I have for...

Re: Forever Newbie Seeks The Light
And for what is worth, the link below is an mp3 with excerpts of stuff I've written over the years. Other than real guitars and an occasional real bass line (when time permits) all the MIDI has been written (typed in the event list) on Cakewalk 3.0 using some sort of General MIDI tone module. I used...

Forever Newbie Seeks The Light
Hello everybody! Happy to be here No matter how much I think I've learned (I must be pretty thick lol) I am a forever Linux newbie and do not think I've got enough of a grasp on how crazy modular things are in Linux to be able to get things together, so I'm glad you guys are here. My music experienc...
