Re: Lexicon Alpha random shut-down
To be a little more clear it is an un-shielded 1/4" TS cable going through an XLR to 1/4" TSR adapter. I only have one sheilded XLR cable, and that is usually used for my microphone. Since I switched from the Line 1 at the back of Alpha to the Instrument Jack in the front of the Alpha I am...

Re: Lexicon Alpha random shut-down
Great news, I was able to get rid of the horrible background noise that I was getting, even on the clean setting. It was really bad with high-gain use and/or with distortion/fuzz pedals, and since that is the sound I like, it was really inconvenient. No way I could record like that either. Using the...

Re: Lexicon Alpha random shut-down
Well, I got my Lexicon Alpha to finally act normal, IE stays on, turns on with reboot. You have to mess with the USB power settings and get them not to turn off, and to turn on and stay on. It is possible to get the Alpha to work normally, just takes a little work. If anyone is interested in the lin...

Re: Guitarix: Jimi Hedrix Pedal Board and Amp
I'll check him out. I saw another guy on YouTube, the video was 10yo, but he had an old Marshall, an original Uni-Vibe, some Fuzz Face pedals that had been modded, and a Vox Wah 846 from 1969, he played some of the Woodstock gig, and he sounded great: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n6quYBYD7K4&...

Re: Guitarix: Jimi Hedrix Pedal Board and Amp
Ok, I just found some new LV2 plugins, and they had the SuperFuzz pedal I was looking for. I also found a Marshall JMP 2203 Convolver file when I upgraded to Guitarix 0.44.1. What you all said though was right, you need a guitar with single coils ie a Strat (although a Tele will work in a pinch, app...

Re: Lexicon Alpha random shut-down
I found a no-hassle fix that appears to be permanent. It is along the lines of the help that didn't work for me, and it is modifying the power settings for the audio card/audio software: ---- https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=1766206#p1766206 /etc/modprobe.d/modprobe.conf: options snd_hda_...

Re: Guitarix: Jimi Hedrix Pedal Board and Amp
Ok, I have made some progress with trying to emulate the Digitech Jimi Hendrix Experience Pedal using Guitarix(after I am successful with Guitarix, I am going to try and do the same thing with Rakarrak). I finally tracked down some good analogs for the Octavio/Octavia pedal. I was watching Josh Scot...

Using a Digitech RP150 With Linux
I dug out my old Digitech RP150, and I was wondering if I could use it with Linux. Turns out Linux Mint recognized the RP150 right off the bat, with none of the quirky USB connection issues (although kind of resolved, as long as you keep the Volume Control Page open or are playing audio) I was havin...

Re: Guitarix: Jimi Hedrix Pedal Board and Amp
@jasonstone20 Please edit the title of this topic. I shudder and lose a heartbeat every time I read "Jimi Hedrix". :? Quite sure that's exactly that missing 'n' (pronounce "Ummpf") which all the OP attempts to reach "the sound" were lacking of  Right?!?!?!! LOL!

Re: Guitarix: Jimi Hedrix Pedal Board and Amp
GMaq, I do have a Strat, and I have the Vintage Pickups also. There is no way I will ever be able to play as well as Mr. Hendrix, but I really dig his guitar tone, as well as his songs. I am still a novice at playing the guitar, and I am better at setting equipment up and fidgeting with it than I am...

Re: Guitarix: Jimi Hedrix Pedal Board and Amp
funkmucle, Thanks for the reply. They did have a few of the pedals on Reverb for not a bad price. I am in no hurry so i don't have an issue waiting for more replies. Once again thank you for replying, that is helpful info that you gave. I am also a huge Jimi Hendrix fan, the guy wrote, produced, and...
