I really like Dave's music, and he has a great YouTube channel. He is the type of guitar player I want to be, as we have the same influences, ie Hendrix and Frusciante. Also, he is proof that it really isn't the gear you have, it is how we use it. Gear snobs can really be a bore sometimes.

I found another Ocativia/o alternative. The WaveSharper(WaveShaper?) distortion does a great range of fuzz sounds, including the Ocatvia/o. The settings for the Ocativia/o sounds with the WaveSharper distortion plugin:

Gain: 10
Drive: 74
Hi Pass: 461.1
Lo pass: 13296
Wet/Dry: 100

Well, I couldn't get any of the programs that create IR's to run on my machine. Any suggestions for a good app?

So I figured out with the two types of fuzz, ie the Fuzz Face and the Ocativa/Octavio, that you need one fuzz with a higher tone voice and one fuzz with a lower tone voice.

Ok, with the LADSPA/LV2 plugins, i have the sound nailed I think:
