Yep, it's working so far. Interesting, strange technique. Yet I'm so glad it works.
Years ago it was easier to use the Windows Reaper, but I feel more comfortable with the Linux Reaper now.
This is good. Less fussing with WINE, although I still do love WINE too.

Re: Announcing the Unofficial Pro-Audio Arch Package Repository (Beta Phase)
Yeah, this really is a good idea! Thanks. I'll be tuned in.
I'm on Manjaro, but I seem to be able to use some Arch stuff, including repos.

Re: Caustic 3 (& G Stomper Rhythm)
I got Caustic to work on a WalMart "ONN" 7 inch tablet. It was pretty good, but I got upset with the trialware mode since I could not export my tune to any other place. G Stomper Rhythm (free) turned out to be able to export and save and is free. However, I let go of the tablet system so I...

Re: GOOD NEWS: Some success with...
So far I'm having good luck with Yabridge, thank goodness. This really makes the whole computer setup process for me a lot easier. Now I can focus on choosing which VST(i)'s to include on my system after demoing some of them. This makes me much happier since I already can get arcDevMainliner (a real...

[SOLVED--MAYBE] Where Can I Get Microsoft Core Fonts (for Linux Use?)
Short of copying TTF files out of a borrowed Windows computer ("c:\Windows\Fonts"); is there a way I can get the fonts on my home system? I vaguely remember there was a workaround for distros. It was legal yet involved downloading. Or, do you know of where the fonts are available for downl...

Re: GOOD NEWS: Some success with...
I had bought a laptop computer on sale from an office supply store and successfully deleted Windows and formatted the slightly unusual solid state drive. Hopefully ext3 is OK, but I think it is. Actually it isn't! EXT3 does not have a proper SSD support, like lack of "Discard" function et...

GOOD NEWS: Some success with...
If you feel like it, post up any success stories relating to Linux Distributions and other related software. I just wanted to say, that I'm happy with Manjaro Linux. I had some difficulty with Pacman, especially as pertains to the mirrors because the databases got temporarily messed up when I interr...

Happy Desktop Screenshots
If you're happy with your desktop environment or whatnot, show us what you got if you feel like it. https://i.postimg.cc/fRPvGxwx/Clean-Desktop.png I am really happy with the window design. It reminds me of monochrome Apple Macintosh Mac SE interface from the early 1990s. I just got this set up yest...

Re: Can the Linux Reaper load Windows VST plugins?
OH MY GOD!!! THANK YOU. YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME. You guys solved my biggest problem (figuring this stuff out). I've done some of this type of thing before, but not with any Linus version of Reaper. I had forgotten much of what I learned and you guys knew a bunch of stuff I didn't. Thank you so very ver...

Rescued Lifeforms (Rescued Animals)
I saw this video today. I'm currently dodging survival issues so I can relate to these sad souls being helped out. This video might hopefully brighten up your day. It brought tears to my eyes. A few times, I've saved some animals from harm too. It's one of our willful responsibilities as Buddhists o...

Re: Portable speaker
This sounds crazy, but I once chopped into the power cord of some cheap office speakers and splice in a USB power cord and it worked like a charm. It's not easy to explain, except that I studied some charts of which wires within a USB cable are for power and which are for data. I think there's only ...

Re: Remembering a 'Good Guy'..
Thanks GMaq, I didn't realise this until your kind note. It is really sad. I remember that video project. I was astonished at how generous and well-administered it seemed to be. I'm a true believer that behind every successful generous digital project are interesting and kind people. Really sorry fo...

[SOLVED] Can the Linux Reaper load Windows VST plugins?
NOTE: (edit) This has been SOLVED (by others here)... scroll towards the end of the thread for the responses. Hi, I have both the Linux Reaper and the Windows Reaper DAW programs installed on my Linux system. I also have WINE installed. Both programs run just fine, I'm getting audio, it's OK. As I'm...

Re: Any Distro Hoppers Out There?
My biggest loss was buying a fancy system, struggling to get Windows S Mode off of it, successfully installing a Linux that seemed to have been hacked at the ISO level (Man In the Middle Attack), and culminated with the still pretty well-functioning system being STOLEN along all my other belongings...
