Re: Ultralite AVB

1 - Two days ago I've recorded 2 bands using the ultralite, the avb switch and the stage b-16. In the beginning, only an heavy sound of crackling. Than i turn off the wifi connection and everything worked. I'm not sure about the exact problem, i'll try to redo the same to understand if it was that ...

the vanilla kernel : http://cdn.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/ ... 0.3.tar.gz I checked the unpatched source and i actually messed up something when patching : as you could expect, it was not already patched unpatched sound/usb : https://nextcloud.nosoco.duckdns.org/s/ySAtMy56yPzwGXY Thank you for th...

Re: Ultralite AVB

baptiste Thank you for confirming the log! So it might be a good idea to build the zen kernel instead. I remember the second part of the patch wouldn't be applied completely because the line number didn't match. I looked for the code and found it, and IIRC, it was already applied. It's been two wee...

Re: Ultralite AVB

baptiste Can you post the changes you had to make to the patch? The patch I shared with buonamorte.records was based off of the zen-kernel 6.0.3-zen2 which might be slightly different than the 6.0.3 vanilla code, but I would be surprised if any of the patch was already applied. With the latest firm...

Re: Ultralite AVB

I am still looking into all of this as I have time, but I wanted to give an update. It looks like there is still hope of making a firmware that can monitor the USB buffer health and force a resynchronization if things get bad. I have done some experiments that seem promising. If this pans out, I'd l...

Re: Ultralite AVB

Thank you @bluebell! I have located the 1.3.4+558 release. It looks like we released that as a beta firmware which is why it didn't come up in my initial search.

Re: Ultralite AVB

Motu Ultralite AVB non-ESS: I think the latest firmware with explicit feedback was 1.3.4+558 and ran with a Linux standard kernel. I could easily force a modulo-8 channel hop by simply changing jackd's buffer size on the fly with the jack_bufsize command. Thank you for this information. I would lik...

Re: Ultralite AVB

Is my assumption correct that you are Dylan from MOTU that buonamorte.records has mentioned? Yes, it's me! The MOTU firmware currently cannot be fixed, due to 3rd party dependencies that is beyond MOTUs control. Newer hardware platforms (e.g. UltraLite-mk5) no longer have this issue. The other OS p...

Re: Ultralite AVB

Maybe I can join in here directly. I just skimmed through this thread and I am thoroughly impressed with how much @Drumfix and collaborators have been able to reverse engineer. I understand a lot of the frustrations I'm reading about in here—Hopefully I can help out. As Dylan pointed out, Motus firm...
