Re: Ultralite AVB
Firmware for 828ES cause a continuous noise when playing. Interesting, stanlea , could you tell me what sample rate this is at, and with which driver setup? Also if you could share a recording of the noise that could be helpful. I am uploading a tool, motu-util, that should be able to tell me some ...

Re: Ultralite AVB
I'm currently using the Drumfix driver. Should I disable this? If the drumfix driver is working well except for occasional channel walking / distortion on playback then you could try using only the firmware. If you are getting issues in the record direction I think the normal or patched usb audio c...

Re: Ultralite AVB
I am hoping next week I will be able to post firmware for the mk4 and 828es variants. Firmware recovery in the playback direction is seeming pretty robust, but the record direction is still presenting some difficulties. I'm having some difficulties with the Mk4 build job, so that may have to wait u...

Re: Ultralite AVB
@AudioNarwhal : is the MK4 also affected by this topic and can it be handled in the same way? Yes, aside from being able to send it curl commands over ethernet the mk4 should be mostly the same. I am hoping next week I will be able to post firmware for the mk4 and 828es variants. Firmware recovery ...

Re: Ultralite AVB
Running at @48KHz with a 256 sample buffer, jackd v2, 64 I/O channels over USB2 in so called "vendor mode" (using the motu endpoints, not the class compliant ones). I haven't looked into the vendor mode issues yet, however the main implementation difference should be the number of channel...

Re: Ultralite AVB
Could this firmware go for the 828ES ? I can make a build for the 828es in the near future, I just want to make sure I'm on the right path with the UltraLite. baptiste This is definitely curious, it could be due to a bad cable, but I can't tell. If you have a recipe to make this happen let me know....

Re: Ultralite AVB
Does this beta FW go together with your kernel patch or can one use it without the kernel patch? You can use the firmware with or without the patch. The firmware makes the device recover from dropped usb packets and the patch reduces the number of dropped usb packets. So both together should have t...

Re: Ultralite AVB
buonamorte.records Thank you for the logs. Unfortunately, the dynamic-debug information seems to be missing from them. (The dynamic debug control file has to get re-written on each boot-up.) Could you share your lspci too? baptiste I was able to reproduce a babble here, although it was related to a...

Re: Ultralite AVB
baptiste How frequently does the babble error occur? Did it occur randomly in the middle of the stream or was it immediately following a stream stop/start? I found a computer with almost the same xHCI (although its rev 04 vs your rev 05): 00:14.0 USB controller: Intel Corporation 8 Series/C220 Seri...

Re: Ultralite AVB
Do I need anything besides the snd-usb-audio-printk-6.0.3.patch? A few caveats... The current state of the patch appears to introduce 12ms of latency on output, and it doesn't seem to be completely reliable for those who have tested so far. That said, more testing is definitely welcomed and it will...

Re: Ultralite AVB
baptiste Thank you for that information. I was a little confused, but after doing some more experiments plugging in some other devices it looks like the log for ep 14 is actually reporting twice the real endpoint number, so I believe that log is referring to IN endpoint 7 on the UltraLite. (I plugg...

Re: Ultralite AVB
buonamorte.records That actually looks to be correctly mounted. I suspect you should be able to turn on the dynamic debug logs following the rest of the instructions. However, if that doesn't seem to be working, I wonder if you could share the output of: sudo cat /sys/kernel/debug/dynamic_debug/con...

Re: Ultralite AVB
My kernel is built with debug enabled and the ultralite decided to play tricks this morning, so here we go : [83553.286633] xhci_hcd 0000:00:14.0: Babble error for slot 6 ep 14 on endpoint [83559.521379] xhci_hcd 0000:00:14.0: Babble error for slot 6 ep 14 on endpoint Thank you baptiste , this is s...
