Do you have that many interrupts with your UltraLite AVB, too? I have nearly 16000 Interrupts per second using over 10% CPU of one core of my Core i7. I'm not sure how many interrupts I have, but my problems seem to be related to, or at least affected by, the queue length of the motu-avb-usb driver...
