Re: Is AppImage version good for daily work?
I have used both the AppImage and also installed it from source using the instructions on kubuntu 20.04. Both methods work very well for me and I had no performance problems. The AppImage is very quick to download and try, so you don't really need to take anyone's word for it. I'd recommend getting ...

Re: Super Newbie Reaper Q: Can't get multiple inputs
In your screenshots, you are missing the box that you select the input to each track on in your track view. Try enlarging the track view to the right, so you can see more dialogue and the tracks look like reapertrack.png As you can see, there is "In/fx" box where you select the input for e...

Re: Reaper plugin scaling
I think this can only be done in the setting of a plugin. So if the plugin doesn't have a setting to do so then you can't. I tried resizing a few gui's that I have and they have a minimum size that I can't go under and that is likely too big for a netbook screen.

Parawave Rapid
rapid.jpg Sharing that I got this running successfully using the wine bridge in Carla. The synth comes in a few files. The main synth is installed via an .exe and there are libraries in a .msi format that are extracted. I could not get the main .exe file to work. I tried with the command line "...

Re: Can Linux really handle all genres of music?
Short answer: No, you cannot do proper orchestral (sample based music) music in Linux. The instrument market is dominated by Kontakt, as you know if you compose such music. Kontakt does not run on Linux. All "classical" (etc.) instruments that are available for Linux do not come even clos...

Re: Can Linux really handle all genres of music?
You can record any genre of music on linux. You can record any genre of music on a mobile phone. Genres have nothing to do with the question you are asking which is whether you will find virtual instruments you want to use. There are good samplers so sample packs will work. There are soundfont and s...

Re: Facebook and instagram, good for publicity?
Instagram is more designed for promotion. Facebook is designed for keeping in contact with people you already know. Just as long as you know, whatever platform, uploading just your music won't make anything happen and that social media marketing involves making connections with the audience in some ...

Re: BTRFS were is the root partition
Gps All the ones with 21% are btrfs subvolumes on the same partition, which is 932G in total and is 21% full overall. The subvolumes use any of the space there is on the partition they are on. I use btrfs on ubuntu and there are two subvolumes root and home. The home subvolume ("@home") c...
