Re: QjackCtl: USB-interace selection not available
Hello. I'm in the same boat as you with my Saffire 6. I've got a horrible feeling that the USB 1.1 version (vendor code 1235:0010) doesn't work with Linux, but that the USB 2.0 version (vendor code 1235:8008) does. work. AFAIS, capture support for Saffire 6 (1235:0010) was never implemented [*]. If...

Re: Crackling without xruns.. worse with large buffers
I've found out that some devices with synchronous endpoints perform much better if the driver packs less iso frames per URB. This is the case with my Microbook IIc for example. You might want to try to decrease MAX_PACKS value in sound/usb/card.h from 6 to 4, 2 or 1. Ignore this. After some more te...

Re: Compatibility of USB audio sound card BOSS ME-80
The Boss ME-80 is not a USB class compliant device. It requires a proprietary driver to run on MacOS. Has someone written a driver for it and incorporated it into ALSA (I didn't see it in their list)? BOSS devices actually mostly UAC1 compatible. They just have vendor-specific bInterfaceClass and b...

Re: Can I use Rubix22 interface with Ardour (on Debian)?
The Rubix 24 arrived today and I was testing it. First with Renoise again and I got the same crackles like with the zoom (without xruns). Then I turned off duplex mode in Cadence and everything was fine (not so with the Zoom). That's sad. And, again, this is reproducible only with Renoise? What is ...

Re: Disable loopback on Audient EVO 4
@to1ne I'll look into this later, maybe next week. What did you mean when you said that "remixing-use-all-sink-channels = no" makes a difference? What exactly changed?

Re: Ultralite AVB
My suggestion was based on reading all discussions pointing to Motu being know for bad usb implementations. I do not know if that is true but you could at least go to the Motu site and register your device if not already done and ask if the know timing issues in Class Compliant mode will ever be ad...

Re: Realtime priority?
Currently, I have an Audient ID4 set to 88200Hz sample rate & 512 sample buffer size and I get about 20-30 Xruns in a 24 hour period after rebooting. A good chunk of those usually happen when the soundcard is first initialised at boot. Could you post lsusb -v output for this device? (preferably...

Re: Disable loopback on Audient EVO 4
So switching between analog-stereo and analog-stereo-loopback doesn't make any difference? You can play with channel-map in analog-mono-1 and analog-mono-2 mappings (e.g. aux1,aux1,mono,aux1 and aux1,aux1,aux1,mono), or create new mappings and profiles to figure out if they work with loopback. I thi...

Re: BOSS BR-80 as USB audio interface
It seems that quirk for this device was accidentally removed: https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=8e5ced83dd1c3090c96c4e0614703f0f2a5ba2f4 If the device is not shown in aplay -l output, then I suggest you to open bug on the kernel bugzilla, or write to alsa-...

Re: Do you have an interface that works best with 48000 instead of 44100?
With my Focusrite Scarlett USB interfaces (Solo, 2i2, 2i4) ... Additionally, when I run them at 44100 then I have some occasional clicks (about 1 per minute) that sound as if caused by a light switch or a refrigerator that starts cooling. No clicks when running them at 48000. Are all of these 2nd g...

Re: Disable loopback on Audient EVO 4
Would that be possible? Can you help me with that? You need to create custom pulseaudio profile: /etc/udev/rules.d/91-pulseaudio-custom-profiles.rules: # Audient EVO4 SUBSYSTEM=="sound", SUBSYSTEMS=="usb", ACTION=="change", KERNEL=="card*", ENV{ID_VENDOR}==&q...

Re: Scarlett 18i20 gen 2 won't run above 48kHz
You need to explicitly set the correct number of input and output channels, because not all combination of sample rates and channels count will work. You can also try the patch below:
