Re: Just found a new DAW on KVR

...(just wait until Ardour 4 arrives... I did a Google search for "Ardour 4" (with quotes) and all it came up are URLs with "manga" in it such as "mangashare" and "mangatown." Where did you get that "Ardour 4" from? I don't think there are any rumors about Ardour 4 yet. Since I blocked all the URLs...

[solved] Hydrogen : post-fader outputs don't work

Hi. I use Hydrogen 0.9.6 on Debian Jessie with KXStudio repos. I want to set the outputs on post-fader, but it's impossible. Each time it's coming back to the pre-fader setting. I saw the same problem here : https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/hydrogen/+bug/559586 But no solution is given. Any...

Re: AV Linux 2015

On the other hand stability is important for an audio distro. Testing is ok now because Jessie is freezed, but sometimes it can be broken. And then you need to know well how to deal with Debian tools to fix the stuff (preferences, snapshots repos, apt-get, aptitude, etc.). That's the reason why Linu...

Re: U-he native linux Diva is working in Carla

I've got all the u-he plugins working in a recent Ardour nightly: 3.5.4040 and kxstudio 14.04. I learned that you have to tell Ardour to scan for VSTs using Edit->Preferences->Plugin. Also for some reason ~/.vst was not scanned so I moved all the plugin symlinks to /usr/lib/vst from ~/.vst (actuall...

Re: U-he native linux Diva is working in Carla

It looks like the official position is, 'if it works in bitwig, it works', and the various issues belong to the other hosts. I would expect this to change somewhat, once the project is further along, and more sales occur. I think they are very busy this season. The point is it is not U-he devs them...

Re: dll vs exe plugins

As far as i know .exe files are just softwares installers for Windows, or files that will launch a software. I already installed WinVSTs using their .exe installers doing like told above ( wine <name>.exe ). I never had problems to use them with Reaper after. If configured properly to open .exe file...

Re: Call for Testing: KXStudio 14.04.1 ISOs

I put the iso on a usb stick using Unetbootin. I did 3 installs : The first one on a "test" partition on a HDD, just to try if it goes. The install worked but i realised after that i let the language in english at the first initial screen. However i don't remeber any issue putting the keyboard in fr...

Re: Are there happy Linux Reaper users?

I tried it a few times on my Debian Squeeze with wine-rt from Tangostudio repos. I didn't have any problem, seemed to be very stable.

Re: KXStudio / Debian repo warning

Wine 1.4.1-4+rt0tstudio3 from Tango Studio repositories work fine here, Wineasio is in their repos too. For the very last version of Wineasio, if you're on 64 bits system you have to build it in a 32 bits chroot installed with debootstrap. It may look complicated but it's actually not so tricky, i g...
