Re: MIDI Editor - select all events in sound

But the tooltips I'm not sure. @kybos is that possible? There is no mention in the Qt docu that the status tips could be OS dependent, so I don't think so. As I recall the tooltips are a configuration in the settings dialog, maybe they are simply turned off. This is about the status tips (tips disp...

Re: MIDI Editor - select all events in sound

It doesn't seem to work, can select individual notes but not all on that line. No tool tip either. Quite possible I'm doing it wrong :P What distro/desktop are you using? Do you use the MusE AppImage? If not, please try that, at least that must work, as it's independent of your system and the insta...

Re: MIDI Editor - select all events in sound

Yes, just hold SHIFT and click one of the events. This should work both in selection (pointer) and edit (pencil) mode.

BTW: When you hover the mouse over an event, you should see a short description of possible actions for the current tool in the status bar.

Re: Two new Midi scripts: Humanize and CreateBassline

It's possible to override the main font from the style sheet: Create the file "Dark Flat.qss" (or whichever theme you want to use) in your "~/.../MusE/MusE/themes" folder. Put the following in it: * { font-family: Sans; font-size: 10pt; } Then make sure the option "Cascade t...

Re: Two new Midi scripts: Humanize and CreateBassline

There is a known problem with determining the system font by Qt when bundled in AppImage or other similar containers. It's not related to MusE settings, as the main font is fetched dynamically from the desktop environment. I understand that many issues of this kind have been solved by Qt already, an...

Re: Two new Midi scripts: Humanize and CreateBassline

No, the AppImage should work exactly the same way as the normal app, i.e. it should also use the existing settings. No idea what is wrong with the fonts, I don't remember having made any relevant/critical changes there recently.

Re: Two new Midi scripts: Humanize and CreateBassline

Great! I have attached a zip with the markdown and the images (you will have to fix the paths I guess). This is my first markdown file but I think I got it right! :) It's now in the wiki: https://github.com/muse-sequencer/muse/wiki/Multichannel-audio-plugins Only some minor post-editing was require...

Re: Two new Midi scripts: Humanize and CreateBassline

Just provide a markdown file for it, then I will include it in the wiki. You don't have to ask first ;-).

I added it to the wiki document (merged with the three already existing descriptions), under Example files:

Re: Changes when running Midi > Scripts?

A simpler alternative could be to offer a refresh function for the Scripts menu, so you could create a new script in the user scripts folder as usual, then refresh the menu and it would be there, without the need for restart. (If I remember right, the scripts are always loaded from disc on executio...

Re: Changes when running Midi > Scripts?

As you noted, the scripts do not have to be written in python. Instead it simply executes an external program and reads back the output. (I think this was the reason it wasn't called script before. It doesn't have to be scripts. That's right and I was aware of it, but the containing folders are cal...

Re: Changes when running Midi > Scripts?

Oscillator's idea may be more of a candidate for MusE's remote python scripting feature. Users would not be familiar with how to access MusE variables and structures via the built-in scripts, whereas the remote feature has documented 'well protected' commands. See the README.python. Once it is set ...

Re: Changes when running Midi > Scripts?

It would also be useful and cool to be able to run Python code typed directly into a text box, so you could do this w/o restarting MusE! :) That's certainly an interesting idea. A simpler alternative could be to offer a refresh function for the Scripts menu, so you could create a new script in the ...

Re: Changes when running Midi > Scripts?

1. You are right. But this was a "feature" of the duplicate menu, it never worked in the Midi->Scripts menu. It's not so easy to fix without the duplicate menu, so I will reinstate it for the time being and think about a better solution. Thanks for answering and looking into it! I can see...
