[ANN] B.Oops Glitch Effect Sequencer 1.6.0

B.Oops is a multi-effect plugin controlled by step sequencer patterns. Just two weeks are gone since the last release. But there are a lot of new features. Also thanks to Chris "Airwindows" Johnson and the ACE makers. What's new: * Faster * New effects: ** Reverb ** Galactic reverb ** Infi...

Re: [ANN] B.Oops Glitch Effect Sequencer 1.4.0

I don't know how it's implemented, but Bitwig's stock pitch shifter sounds very granular (it only has a grain size and a semitone setting), but it only introduces a negligible amount of latency (it reports to not introduce any latency, but when adding 512 of them in series and it feels similar to 1...

Re: [ANN] B.Oops Glitch Effect Sequencer 1.4.0

Frequency domain-based pitch shifters using FFT can deal with latencies of less than 1 ms. But they are hungry for CPU speed. More hungry than my WSOLA approach in B.Shapr. And much too slow for up to 12 slots. I think.

Re: [ANN] B.Oops Glitch Effect Sequencer 1.4.0

Cool 8) , but is there still some place for new effects. I'm waiting for a pitch shifter! Funny, I had a similar discussion just a few days ago. The limitation is the latency produced by a pitch shifter. Initially I wanted to make plugin that adds no latency. Thus, only zero latency effects are all...

Re: What are the pros and cons between VST3 (linux native) and LV2?

What about user/musician benefits? Performance differences are small and mainly depend on the host implementation (as mentioned before). With one notable exception. The plugin scanning. If you have a big VST library (I only have some few), re-scanning may take a wile. LV2 re-scanning is much faster...

Re: What are the pros and cons between VST3 (linux native) and LV2?

Main disadvantages of LV2 - very steep learning curve. You have to do and learn a lot before your plugins will get properly functioning[...] I heard it a lot from others. Especially from non-FOSS DAW programmers complaining about the LV2 documentation. I didn't have any problems with it. And please...

Re: What are the pros and cons between VST3 (linux native) and LV2?

Steinberg made big improvements with VST3. And they make sense. Many clear disadvantages of VST2 are resolved (resize, multiple MIDI ports, ...). Including licensing (VST3 now with GPL3 option). But the painful forcing of developers to switch away from VST2 will always stay in my mind. One advantage...

Ardour dropped such feature, and Element too.
I read that Reaper will NOT load LV2 ui:GtkUI plugins (e.g., Calf). No surprise as Reaper already loads GTK3.

Re: Reaper starts to implement LV2

LV2 support is just added to the developers branch (odd minor version numbers). It's labelled as "experimental". Reaper seems to use a fully new environment for LV2 plugins. Not based on lilv. First tests produced a lot of problems. Especially segfaults. But keep in mind it's "experim...

Re: [ANN] B.Oops 1.2.0 Glitch - First official release

The sample browser should keep the last sample settings (selection start / end) if re-opened. Thanks for your FR. Now implemented into the new release 1.2.4 https://github.com/sjaehn/BOops/releases . Also enabled change of dials and sliders by typing the value. Ardour users should enable "allo...
