Re: I'll be back for you (instrumental version)
Cool track! I also enjoy writing metal and using Ardour/Hydrogen :) The intro idea of the "low-fi riff that then becomes the real thing" has been probably done a thousand times, but I always liked the effect, for instance in "Of sins and shadows" by Symphony X This trick gets me ...

Re: ysi-aie "vision beyond time" debut album
I really dug "Accuser" in particular. Nice playing!

Re: solo ambient guitar
Thanks for the kind words, all! Reminds me of Robin Guthrie's ambient work, very very good! I hadn't heard of Robin Guthrie before -- I'll have to check that name out. Thanks! Are you willing to share info about your setup? Certainly. I'm using a Line 6 Pod HD500x directly into Ardour (on Ubuntu 18....

Re: do not pursue (instrumental metal/video game music)
@tavasti: thank you! I think you are right about the mix dryness. I added reverb to the whole mix and made some minor level adjustments just to see what it'd be like to compare the two versions. I may have overdone it a bit, but sometimes you need to go too far to know how far to go. Here's the &quo...

do not pursue (instrumental metal/video game music)
Some college buddies and I used to play Dynasty Warriors 3/4 back in the early 2000s to blow off steam (or simply procrastinate). After all these years, I still like the games (even the bizarre voice actiing ). I especially enjoy its guitar-driven soundtrack, and wanted to pay tribute by doing a sho...

Re: "space"
I really dig this! There's something about this that brings Paul Masvidal to mind. Perhaps the combination of your phrasing and the effects on the guitar. I look forward to hearing more!

Re: liftoff (instrumental metal)
Ok, for some feedback: I really like the guitar sound and I don't find the hiss disturbing. Did you do a bit of Low Pass filtering? I have heard real tracks which have more hiss (e.g. I have the original tracks and producer packs of some Periphery songs and on some tracks there is more hiss than th...

Re: Jonestown
Great sounds in this one. I liked the panning effect on what I think of as the "hi-hat" (the sounds that come in around 0:24). Also, just generally, I'm curious what instruments/plugins you used here. I haven't tried Renoise myself, but I might have to check it out for some more electronic...

Re: liftoff (instrumental metal)
I also am in the conundrum of whether to use Ardour or Hydrogen for my own projects that don't have a real drummer... Hydrogen is a very intuitive and flexible programming platform, it is easy to create your parts and lay out your song flow.. Ardour's MIDI implementation has no visual velocity bars...

Re: liftoff (instrumental metal)
@Basslint -- Thanks! I'll have to check out DrumGizmo at some point. There's also a new piece up (w/a similar intro feel) here if you happen to be looking for more: https://soundcloud.com/modusjonens/i-shall-return @tavasti -- Thanks for the feedback! I'm still quite new to the synth side of things....

Re: liftoff (instrumental metal)
@Michael Willis -- I downloaded/installed Dragonfly and got it up and running in Ardour. I found myself liking the Percussion Studio for the drums. I also played around with adding it to other tracks and now I think most everything is going to get a touch or 'verb. Thanks again! :) @lilith -- Thanks...

Thanks for the plugin suggestions. I think your bias is the best kind of bias! Looking forward to trying out Dragonfly Reverb.
