Re: Lies

Great compositions again! I think I can't do this type of music as I'm too impatient. I need to lay down a beat in some minutes an then start building the track  The flutes at 2:30 sound a bit off / out of tune (?) (or is it the guitar flute combination). The guitar reminds me on Brian May...

Re: WUHAN

I don't generally like electronic music, but for some weird reason any time you share a track and I listen to it, I love it! This one has a videogame vibe: I think it wouldn't feel out place in a new Hotline Miami chapter  You really don't like any electronic music at all?? Not much... I'm...

I used the "Nevermore / Lead" preset in Guitarix for the pre-solo, the solo, and the harmonized part
Pretty sure this is it, even though I think I installed it through Guitarix's UI (which does pick presets from musical-artifacts I think): https://musical-artifacts.com/artifacts/136

Re: Lies

Great track, I love the harmony at the end of the solo! Would you mind sharing a bit of how you made your lead/solo tone with Guitarix / Rakarrack? I like how the artificial harmonic you played pops out, and the kind of scratchy sound from string noise. Thanks! The harmony is the one I recorded fir...

Re: Lies

Hi, Once again you surprise me with the nuances you can get out of some of these pretty modest sound libraries! And uhhmm that wasn't an 'attempt' at a solo that was a great solo...period! Hahaha thanks! I only had to play it like 234 times to get there... My only critique would be more drums...

Re: Four Chords

I'm not familiar with VCV, but these are quite nice. The second snippet reminded me of the soundtrack of the movie Black Rain for some reason, which I guess shouldn't surprise me as it was a common sound for many tracks in the 80s.

Re: Rated Blue - "Spanish Moon" Released!

Amazing track as usual! Vocals remind me a bit of Robby Steinhardt, the violinist and occasional singer of the prog rock band Kansas, especially on their more "direct" tracks from the 70s that I've always loved.

Lies

Hi all, quarantine boredom struck again, so I'm sharing a song I actually wrote almost 20 years ago (the MIDI file says 2001, I'm old!). The original MIDI file was not really usable in its existing state, so I rewrote and re-arranged everything from scratch (including panning) using MuseScore, and t...

Kind of prog rock, maybe. This is a remix of a piece from 3 years ago. It was fun remixing it since there are so many details, so many ways to process audio tracks.

Love this track! Definitely some Porcupine Tree vibe in it.

Re: Scheherazade

It's nice although I did not hear the connection with progrock. Not that I'm versed in labels and tags though. The piece seems to go by w/o any anchor, it just flows by. Which is not a detrimental quality. I was surprised it ended when I was expecting more development. Thanks for listening! I do ha...

Oh, and yes, of course I want to know what Zynaddsubfx preset you used for the pad.
Fount it! It's the "Ghost Ensemble" preset, in the "Companion" group (120. in my instance).

Re: Scheherazade

Side note, Rainmak3r you should listen to the album Waters of Redemption . That's the guy that created Sonatina, right? I've stumbled upon some tracks of his occasionally, but I didn't listen to this album yet, thanks for the pointer! The Prologue sounded quite interesting, so I do know what I'll l...
