Re: About time I put something here again

This is my contribution to the KVR Music Cafe monthly contest (which I've rather neglected lately). It is totally out of my comfort zone, and does some rather sneaky tricks with MIDI-learn on LFOs and filters. So please enjoy Submundo :D What do you mean? Of course it's all Yoshimi  Nice piece...

Re: The Wind and the Lake (classical / symphonic poem)

I thought this was good. Well done. The rhythmic figure at around 4:44 jumped out at me -- I recognised it from a Beethoven quartet number 7 2nd movement. . Was that where you got the idea? There was also The Flight of The Bumble Wave at 8:45, which was good. :) Thanks, I'm glad you liked it! I nev...

Very nice indeed. You are a talented guy :D

I enjoy listening to come classical occasionally but have no appreciation of composers etc. or of the intricacies involved, so the only thing I can comment on is how much I enjoyed it!
Thanks, I couldn't ask for a better review!

Re: Imago Dei

Very nice! It reminded me of Dead Can Dance, or Brendan Perry's solo work.

A very pleasant listen, and indeed surprisingly 'authentic' :D
Thanks!

Re: The Wind and the Lake (classical / symphonic poem)

I have to admit, the first composer that came to my mind was Bedřich Smetana, rather than Tchaikovsky or Grieg or anybody else mentioned on this thread. This was a pleasant listen, the different motifs make me think of scenes in a story, each with their own part to tell. I'll certainly come back fo...

Re: The Wind and the Lake (classical / symphonic poem)

Surprisingly nice. I say "surprisingly" because this is the first time someone here has posted an original orchestral piece that sounds like it could actually be a real orchestra playing. Previous examples either lacked enough "human articulation" to sound convincingly real (it sounded like a bunch...

The Wind and the Lake (classical / symphonic poem)

Hi all, I'm very excited to finally share this... thanks to the holidays, I've finally been able to get to a symphonic poem I started working on many months ago. No rock, no contaminations: this is 100% classical music, and more precisely an attempt to write a late-romantic symphonic poem, a kind of...

Re: Videos from the tracks

Hi! @Rainmak3r Sorry haven't had a lot of spare time to watch all of the videos, I liked Out of the Void so far though! No need to apologise! I really appreciate you taking the time to watch even just one, as time is our most precious resource. I'm glad you enjoyed Out of the Void! It's the last on...

Re: Videos from the tracks

I think they are very good, I've seen some popular electronic musicians with less impressive videos, while yours are at times touching. Thanks! I really appreciate the "touching" part, as I have indeed tried to tell a story in each of them with the limited means I had. You could try kdenlive instea...

Re: Videos from the tracks

Those came out nice. You're inspiring me to try a bit harder with my videos. I only make them because it seems like people won't listen to a song unless there's a video. Thanks! It's partly the reason why I started doing it too, even though it's mostly because I did the fun 80s video for "Call of t...

Re: Videos from the tracks

These are nice videos. They compliment the music well. I have been struggling with how serious to get in video production. It seems that video can extend the reach of a song, because more people connect with video than with music. But video production is so time-intensive, and I really don't love i...

Re: Videos from the tracks

Of course, unless you're willing to pay, you're limited in your choices, but often, just by searching and watching a lot of them, you can actually get inspired by what you see. What I have checked, looks like for free you can get pretty nice material. Sure it is limited what you get, but so it is w...

I love this song! I think it sounds really cool too, and the singer has a unique voice.
