Re: Dig This -Trying to make house, but feels like I am failing

Turned down the volume of the organ, and now the bass and drums are most more present. There are some tricks you can use for additional warmth, in particular regarding that organ. Look into virtual analog/tape effects, there are some you can probably find in your distro's repo. Look into CALF plugi...

Wow, it did not occur to me that it's the same concept as MIDI drum triggers! Thanks :D

Re: Dig This -Trying to make house, but feels like I am failing

Thank you, but its not white noise. Its a default hi hat from LMMS. ( from the folder misc hats) And this house mix is an example on why I used it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4tsZ0GgTjyQ Don't know if its added because its a mix, but there are more mixes from this guy, they all seem to have th...

Re: Dig This -Trying to make house, but feels like I am failing

The first thing that you need to change is the white noise you used instead of the typical open hi hat. You can use white noise there (although it's more of a techno/tech house thing, AFAIK), just not something as aggressive as your current sound  You also need some processing on those vocals...

Re: simple software for digital piano recording

Hi everyone, I'm quite surprised that this forum has been hiding from me for such a long time  . I have a digital Yamaha P-95. I found a workaround how to record the music (Audiocity and headphone line out cable), however, people kept telling me that the quality can't be good (I have no fram...

Both op-tions
1) VIA footcontroller
2) VIA USB

I don't own one, however I am fairly sure it works via USB because it uses MIDI over USB, which is a standardized protocol.

Re: DRM-free music streaming - is it possible?

The big thing would be to convince labels (of any type) to let go of their DRM while assuring them substantial revenues. Or at least revenues at par. But then the first question will be, you are stripping away their wish for DRM (since they use DRM services for a reason), so how much will you be cu...

Re: DRM-free music streaming - is it possible?

Somafm.com is legal, pays royalities and doesn't use DRM. Is it also a music streaming service (i.e. you can select which track you listen) or only a radio? Digitally Imported (and its affiliated radios, ClassicalRadio, RadioTunes, JazzRadio and RockRadio) is a similarly DRM-free radio, however I w...

How skilled are you with GNU/Linux? If you have intermediate skills, I recommend Debian with LxQt.

DRM-free music streaming - is it possible?

Premise: I know that record labels put certain restrictions to how their music can be distributed, so this probably does not apply to music released by the major labels and only to independent releases. And I know about Jamendo but I am not talking about Creative Commons-licensed music, I am talking...

Re: simplistic linux/vst3 plugin example/framework

Thank you! If you uploaded this file to a repository hosting service like Gitlab or Github and included a proper LICENSE file people could easily find it outside of this forum and use them as a starting point for their code, since VST3 resources are scarce.

Some news - while snooping around Ardour's source code, I found this VAMP plugin which should allow offline polyphonic pitch-tracking.

Re: Using Hydrogen to play DrumGizmo's DRS Kit

Hi Mtemmerm, Somehow the midi mapping was lost when I tried to use your file. So I made some new ones for all the 4 drumkits. Marcel Hello Marcel, since this could be useful to many musicians, could you please release your Hydrogen drum packs under a free license such as the CC0 or CC BY and upload...

Convert rhythm to MIDI

Hello,

do you know any plugin which take an audio track and convert its rhythm data (note placement and velocity) to MIDI?

No need for pitch tracking, even outputting always the same note would be fine.
