Re: The landscape with the mill

I think the composition is good, and I also like the arrangement, however you could improve the mix a bit :D

Guitar-to-MIDI (or, adventures in pitch tracking with free software)

I've been playing with guitar-to-MIDI conversion for a while. I will share my humble hobbyist research here. The most reliable and widely available implementation for pitch tracking right now is inside Aubio , which includes a number of algorithms (monophonic only - no chords!). (Rakarrack also does...

Re: Greetings From BC, Canada.

Hey Everyone, I'm thrilled that this community exists as I am very close to fully leaving windows behind for good... I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of some linux VSTs that contain a lot of synthy electric keyboard presets? I'm used to falling back on ableton's extensive l...

Re: ysi-aie "vision beyond time" debut album

As a fellow Linux surf rocker, can we be friends? :D

I liked the writing and the fact that it doesn't feel like a "genre" record. Bravo!

Re: solo ambient guitar

Thanks for the kind words, all! Reminds me of Robin Guthrie's ambient work, very very good! I hadn't heard of Robin Guthrie before -- I'll have to check that name out. Thanks! Are you willing to share info about your setup? Certainly. I'm using a Line 6 Pod HD500x directly into Ardour (on Ubuntu 18...

Humanize single instrument in Hydrogen

Hello,

in Hydrogen you can set master humanization via the Mixer, but I haven't found a way to do it per instrument (e.g. set humanize to 30% for hi hats and to 10% for kicks). Is there a way to do it?

Re: Greetings

You are running mGB on a real Gameboy connected to the PC via a MIDI cable, right? Yeah. I use an improved version of the open source Arduinoboy project. The one I got was built by Catskull Electronics. https://catskullelectronics.com/teensyboypro There are more affordable versions with different s...

Re: Greetings

Hey \o. mGB is really a treat. Right now, I'm looking for a simple and reliable setup to use my Arturia Mini Lab in tandem with mGB, through linux MIDI/USB. So far latency is not a problem. I use QjackCtl with Qtractor, I managed to get note input by just routing midi, it was fairly simple. Now I n...
