Convert rhythm to MIDI

Hello,

do you know any plugin which take an audio track and convert its rhythm data (note placement and velocity) to MIDI?

No need for pitch tracking, even outputting always the same note would be fine.

Re: VST3 SDK finally GPL'ed!

Sorry for the huge bump people, two years. But two years passed and almost nothing changed, while this should have been big news that could change audio on GNU/Linux forever. First, Ardour did not implement VST3. This is possibly due to license incompatibility between Ardour (GPLv2+) and the VST3 S...

Re: I'll be back for you (instrumental version)

Looks like it's much more complex to use and write for than Hydrogen, though... the tutorial on how to configure it for Ardour is a bit overwhelming. It will take me some time to figure that stuff out, but the MuldjordKit3 kit does sound awesome. You can program it via Hydrogen, we had a nice post ...

Re: I'll be back for you (instrumental version)

Oh, side note! I did look into DrumGizmo in the past few weeks, but never managed to find any drumkit to use with it. The application comes with no samples, and apparently it's very hard to find a sample set to use with it. For this reason I've stuck with Hydrogen so far. Do you have any link to th...

Re: VST3 SDK finally GPL'ed!

I don't use proprietary stuff to make music but having people who do use not use WINE wrappers would be an improvement for all of us, don't you think? If a Windows or Mac developer only has to push another button and a native Linux VST3 plugin is baked then it *might* lead to more Linux plugins. Th...

Re: I'll be back for you (instrumental version)

Very good, reminded me of Chuck Schuldiner's (may he rest in peace) more atmospheric moments! I think you need to improve the mix, re-record the solo (it doesn't need 100% perfect but the faster run doesn't work and I hear two errors at 3:13 and between 3:16 and 3:17), record a real (possibly fretle...

Basslint, thank you! My ancient computer is also almost from the 90s, I hope after the upgrade of the equipment that I spend at this time, the clipping will disappear :D Xeon and Linux it's a power! Well you manage to make a lot of interesting stuff on that gear, in my opinion your...

Re: Creating own Midi Chord Packs

I think you can do this pretty easily through a library that "knows" music theory and can generate MIDI like https://github.com/tonaljs/tonal Music theory is not a problem, I know it. Point is that I'd like to know what kind of timings and note velocities are normal with proper keyboardis...

Re: Hi from the Constitution State, USA!

Hi, CT Yankee here. I may be a yank, but I've lived all over the USA, including Texas, which I miss. I just recently began playing in earnest again, at the age of 61, after decades barely doing anything. A part of me is coming back alive. The cost of great is a challenge because I'm on a fairly fix...

Re: Creating own Midi Chord Packs

My browser showed me some ad of 'Midi Chord Pack'. Oh really, they sell midi clips that contain chords, scales of chords and chord progressions :-o But ok, maybe that idea is not that bad, but instead of paying someone for it, how about generating such with script, and maybe distributing it free of...

Re: The June / Ladoga

"Июнь" however is rather bland I found. It just goes by ... yes, it is for background listening, but this is too literal :) That's funny, because I liked "The June" better than "Ladoga"! To each his own, I suppose. "The June" has a laid back feel, like an ear...
