Re: Getting Jack xrun errors - over/underrun?
I spoke too soon (again!) Put my fader up, no sound from mixer! So rebooted, changed it back to 1024/2 and that seems to be working with only 1 xrun this far - and that was a very very slight clip and not as buzzy as it was before we started all this. I have managed to destroy a USB port by pulling...

Re: Getting Jack xrun errors - over/underrun?
No problem! This stuff makes one feel crazy tbh. Based on the output, it doesn't look like your current kernel has the PREEMPT line that I would expect. So do you still have the low latency kernel installed that you tried earlier? Please boot with that kernel if so. Then paste the output of ...

Please paste output of:
andgrep -e "CONFIG_IRQ_FORCED_THREADING=y" -e "CONFIG_PREEMPT=y" /boot/config-`uname -r`
andcat /etc/default/grub | grep thread

Hey Lilith, I'm a recent buster convert. Have you ever tried the liquorix kernel? It may be worth the effort to try it out sometime. I found that it works very well.

Re: Getting Jack xrun errors - over/underrun?
I'm not an expert at this, but your machine should be able to get achieve much lower latency than 40ms, I would think! something ain't right, that's for sure. So you're going to need to do a little experimenting in my opinion you could try these things... 0. If you stick to the default kernel I thin...

Re: Getting Jack xrun errors - over/underrun?
Hi Kyle_1974, Sounds like your setup is giving you some trouble. I saw earlier that you two different devices for input and output for the jack device. This maybe isn't ideal. Are you familiar with the alsa_in and alsa_out commands? These commands will make it so you can patch audio between multiple...

Re: abNinjam
The mix levels seem great with abNinjam, no problem there. My expectation was that names/audio channels would be displayed and a gain slider/knob. There doesn't really to be a UI meter element for everyone's signal, just a knob. I have found it necessary to be able to control other player's signal, ...

Re: abNinjam
I would like to see a feature for mixing the incoming audio streams. A panel of volume knobs/labels for each peer in the server. This is one feature from reaper ninjan client and Jamtaba that my ears can't live without.

Re: abNinjam
Nice work. The UI looks cool, neat idea. I was able to build it and load it onto the master channel in bitwig. I was able to connect to a private server and it seems to work. I'll put it through its paces another night. To build, I followed readme. Debian has an older version of cmake, so I used snap...

Re: abNinjam
Hey eikakot, I'll plan to give it a test run on Debian 10 and BitWig later today. I'll let you know it goes.

Re: [Jackd + Catia] New Ardour5 audio track automatically connects to system:capture_1
This sort of auto connection thing started to drive me insane, too. You may be able to change the setting in Ardour, try that first. In the Edit, Preferences, Audio untick the "connect track inputs" checkbox. Then disconnect the input from the track and save the project. See if it happens ...

Hey feedbackloop, welcome. What are some albums from you minimal house collection if you don't mind. Always on the hunt for more music. By the way, planning to go with archlinux, any reason in particular? In my limited experience arch seemed to be a little more upkeep (in system configuration as wel...

Hello Neighbors!
Hey folks, Lad here, wanted to say hello! I've enjoyed lurking the forums so far, and so very thankful there is a place like this. I hope everyone is staying safe out there. I'm Lad. Just some guy out in the PNW area. I'm obviously interested in (gnu)/Linux/free software, and music creation but let'...
