Re: Installing a Liquorix Kernel
Should I also enable the threadirqs option again for this kernel? It's a PREEMPT Kernel: Linux marco 5.6.0-18.1-liquorix-amd64 #1 ZEN SMP PREEMPT liquorix 5.6-20.1~buster (2020-06-10) x86_64 GNU/Linux But the realtimeconfigscript still complains at this point: == GUI-enabled checks == Checking if y...

Re: Installing a Liquorix Kernel
Code: Select all
sudo apt-get install linux-image-liquorix-amd64 linux-headers-liquorix-amd64These are so called meta packages, meaning they will always install the latest version when there are updates. Liquorix kernel updates frequently aka rolling release.

Re: Installing a Liquorix Kernel
I have installed it under Debian 10 by following the instructions on the website. No issues so far and like openmastering said, it feels snappier and buttery smooth. hands down the best experience I've had with Jack and linux.

Re: BitWig Summer Special $100 discount
I've had great experience with it so far, inder Debian 10... zero crashes and rarely an xrun, if ever. Ubuntu is based on Debian, so that helps. I can't answer your question about support though.

Re: abNinjam
The mix levels seem great with abNinjam, no problem there. My expectation was that names/audio channels would be displayed and a gain slider/knob. There doesn't really to be a UI meter element for everyone's signal, just a knob. I have found it necessary to be able to control other player's signal,...

Re: Claudia: change the 1024 default buffer size?
Thanks for the reply. Are you also using Cadence to configure Jack? On my system Claudia will start with whatever buffer size I have set in Cadence. Yes, I am using Cadence and have it set to start a Claudia session on start. The workaround I have is to open the ~/.ladish/studios/Studio.xml and add ...

Stanford course: online jamming w/ JackTrip
Stanford has a course on internet jamming via Jack and JackTrip. I signed up and am looking forward to seeing how to to achieve low latency jamming as an alternative to ninjam. Anyone else interested in this sort of thing? https://online.stanford.edu/courses/sohs-music0001-online-jamming-and-concert...

Claudia: change the 1024 default buffer size?
How might I *persist* the buffer size setting for a studio in Claudia? When I change the buffer size and save the studio, the buffer size doesn't end up in the studio xml file. Is there a way to set the default? Thanks!

Re: use Electric Guitar as MIDI controller
This sounds familiar. Try to load the virtual midi device module like so:
Do this to load the module on boot:
If it works, you'll see a virtual midi device show up in jack connections and the wine program.sudo modprobe snd_virmidi
Do this to load the module on boot:
sudo su
echo snd-virmidi >> /etc/modules

Re: Getting Jack xrun errors - over/underrun?
Did you set your CPU governor to performance before the broadcast? Setting this is highly recommended. Can you make sure that all desktop effects are disabled in your desktop environment settings. "Disable WiFi and close any programs that do not need to be open when recording such as browsers. ...

Re: "Server synchronous mode" Option in Jack - What is it doing?
Hmm, in my experience the default stock kernel was not worth the effort/time to optimize. I installed the real-time kernel and liquorix then uninstalled the stock.

Re: "Server synchronous mode" Option in Jack - What is it doing?
Sorry if i missed it, which kernel are your initial results from? What are your pc specs? Regarding the system clock setting question... that seems "normal" to me because that's what happens here too. If i try to select a clock source, it doesn't *seem* to persist, the UI just forgets. :| ...
