Re: Problems with jack active patch not working correctly

It might be jack_mixer, but I don't have it available to install to confirm problem and possible solution if a fixed name is not included in jack_mixer start command, jack_mixer will start ok, but with a random identifier number in name the identifier number changes every time jack_mixer is launched...

Re: Optimize Manjaro just like Ubuentu Studio

The trouble was not the whole system coz i insist its very stable just some weird things happened as jack disappear more than crash im sure its related just to unstable and wrong rt kernel. There was a recent bug in one version of qjackctl [0.5.1] gui would crash, but JACK would still be running ok...

Re: ESI NeOn Audio/Midi interface compatibility issues

ESI knowledgebase usually has answer that devices that are class-compliant or not supported on Linux but no mention of this device ESI say 2 inputs and 2 outputs, with inputs either line-in or mic+hi-z. This sounds similar to their Maya22 This post mentioned solution for getting Maya22 fully functio...

Re: How to test if PulseAudio is correctly autospawning

Any idea why is PulseAudio not autospawning? Which version of Pulseaudio and distribution/repository ? If you have had version update recently, try clearing user configuration folder ~/.config/pulse/ do you have old configuration folder ~/.pulse ? remove it restart pulsaudio with: pulseaudio --kill...

folderol wrote:Maybe I'm not understanding something, but why have pulse audio running at all?
unload a lot of the modules
get rid of udev and timer scheduling
load static ALSA sink when needed
swap ALSA sink for JACK sink when needed

optimised to rest of system and it is a useful tool

Re: How to make Pulse stop treating 8 outputs as 7.1 surround?

I should clarify that I don't use Pulse directly, I only use it through the bridge to Jack in Cadence. Apologies. I assumed from previous posts you might be using Pulseaudio+ALSA for audio playback without JACK None of what I suggested is needed if only using Pulseaudio to JACK bridge I had problem...

Re: How to make Pulse stop treating 8 outputs as 7.1 surround?

Pulseaudio is designed for surround sound and doesn't cope well with multi-channel stereo suggest try going to Pulseaudio Volume Control configuration tab pavucontrol -t 5 change device option to "analog stereo playback" (or "analog stereo duplex" if you need recording input) If ...

Re: How do I get rid of the high-pass filter in Pulseaudio

pulse-daemon.conf and default.pa in ~/.config/pulse/ and /etc/pulse/ are indentical. My guess is that Cadence sets up PA Jack Sink and because my interface has 6 outputs, sets it up as a 5.1 system by default. configuration files in ~/.config/pulse usually have priority over /etc/pulse. Pulseaudio ...

Re: Pulse audio plugins

In theory, any LADSPA plugin that will work in JACK can be loaded as a Pulseaudio module In practice, the command to load LADSPA module requires a list of numbers for the variables needed for DSP settings pactl load-module module-ladspa-sink sink_name=<yourname> master=<sinkname> plugin=<plugin> lab...

Re: Strange bug in Firefox with PulseAudio and Soundcloud

which version of Pulseaudio are you using? pulseaudio --version will confirm if can't see it elsewhere you appear to have old version of Pulseaudio looking for configuration in ~/.pulse folder recent pulseaudio versions now use ~/.config/pulse folder instead (@tseaver is using this folder) Does pavu...

Re: which realtime kernel - antergos

I don't think you need BFQ - that is more for spinning disk HDDs For SSD, deadline is best choice, or else noop Best performance on I/O schedulers and kernels is very dependent on hardware. Newest version is usually better and keeps up with the rolling release but may not work as well as older versi...

I did this 3 years ago: i think it easiest to install manjaro - download iso burn to cd > install and boot. go into manjaro settings pick select kernel and click install linux realtime kernel reboot pick the linux-rt and press enter from the grub menu go into the pamac (add remove programs) settings...

Re: How to connect the jack sink with headphones ?

Check application streams in pavucontrol Playback tab
When JACK is started, anything playing to Built-in Analog Stereo Speakers will stop as device is no longer available
Playback stream needs to be manually re-routed to Pulseaudio Jack Sink
